If youve seen Star Wars Resistance, there is an episode where they find an old “temple of the force” for light side users with a sith temple built underneath it. That episode just became a lot more interesting to me after what you said in the video

I've asked this question multiple times, but I just can't seem to get an answer from anyone, but is it possible that we're giving George Lucas a little bit too much credit here? Because if you dive into his early interviews, "making of" books, and his current thoughts and statements and look for consistency between his original ideas and the final products, it really just feels like he was making things up as he went along. He just decided to go with what works and find ways to connect all of his last minute decisions. That being said, I truly believe that George Lucas is a genius and Star Wars is quite possibly the most important franchise in the history of entertainment. But as I get older, I continue to question the quality of his decisions early on.

Why is this the only franchise where the creators or writers have to EXPLAIN everything years later after the fact. I don’t know if I want to be a SW fan anymore. I wish they would just recreate the entire franchise at this point. It’s such a mess

Truly, nail on the head – I don't care WHO owns the legal rights – that's meaningless. The only true canon is what came out of George Lucas' mind – not Disney's. Not Kathleen Kennedy, that's for damned sure. So…there are only six films that are canon. The books under Lucas are canon. What they call "legends" is the ACTUAL canon. You can't BUY canon. You can buy rights, but that does not confer canon. Allow me to demonstrate exactly why that is:

Suppose tomorrow, the estate of JRR Tolkien lost their minds and decided to sell a random person the rights to all of Tolkien's works for $1. Suppose, for the sake of this example, that I am that person. Now suppose that I'm a giant asshole who doesn't CARE about the integrity of what Tolkien set forth, and that I proceed to make a new film trilogy set just after The Lord of the Rings. Each film in the trilogy consists of literally nothing more than 2.5 hours of Frodo and Sam and Gimli and Legolas and Gandalf going at it in a free-for-all middle earth orgy. Pretty fucked up, right? Of COURSE it is. Suppose I even cast the original cast in their respective roles.
QUESTION:
Would anyone really accept that as canon simply because I had the rights, or would they reject that because the creator, Tolkien, did NOT approve of that addition to his world and his lore?

The answer, very obviously, is that nobody would accept that as canon. For precisely the same reason…Disney/Lucasfilm hold the legal rights to Star Wars but do NOT get to decide what is canon. Bringing in Mark, Carrie and Harrison does not make it canon, either. They're just actors, doing a job – Arnold Schwarzenegger's likeness was used in Terminator: Salvation, but THAT's not canon. PLENTY of original actors have appeared in followup films that are non-canon.

Disney Star Wars is NOT George Lucas' Star Wars and I think it's high time we start spreading that message far and wide. They can make all the trash they want, but they can never force it to be canon without George's blessing and it's clear he did NOT love the sequels.

If Anakin only had a few moments to become one with the force, then did Qui Gon secretly already train this before?

could you do a fan theory on
"what is vader clones his limbs?"
we know Palpatine didn't want him to because it would return him to his previous midichlorian count. But I think this could be pretty cool if this happens somewhere around "The Empire strikes back" or "return of the Jedi" because this would be a much more powerful vader/anakin than mustafar due to his time indulged in the dark side with Palpatine but also a much older and thus worse vader in some areas. He wouldn't have the same speed and power he commanded in lightsaber combat that a ROTS anakin did or a TCW anakin did

As far I'm concerned, "Legends" is the one and only true main Star Wars timeline. Disney's Star Wars is some fucked up dimension that The Force decided to manifest as The Father again, tried some death sticks and then screwed the timeline to the worst possible scenario imaginable.

I love the weird reverence Legends fans have for books that were never cannon. Lucas publicly said he didn't even read those books. They were never a part of his story and are no different than what Disney is doing. I wonder if the reverence is tied to the fact that people don't want to feel like they wasted time reading fan fiction.
