Sen,Collins from main was right Trump never learned. The previous impeachment was handled by lenient tender kid gloves. and the main deterrent was. let the people decide in an election year.Only one day after the first impeachment the first coved-19 entered NYC the result being move along nothing to see here. Now 403,000 people dead , every day more than 4,000 die. the role out for a vaccine is a debacle. Well the people did decide and the courts did decide but Trump rejected the result after many recounts. The Senate cannot prostrate themselves and become delinquent in confidence to their own constituents. Or is it still the congress two for 0 on the senate. If the glove fits we must insist. Do not be tarnished as a Senate statesman with this inditement of violent revolution and insurrection upon the greatest Nation on earth. The answer was resolution through the constitutional voting process. The correct time to alter rules and conditions through proper amendments was before the election. NO TIME LEFT TO DEFEND THE INDEFENSIBLE. IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSE. WE ALMOST LOST OUR DEMOCRACY MAKING EXCUSES FOR HIS IGNORANCE UNDERESTIMATING HIS UNDERCURRENT MOTIVATIONS AS THE COMEDIANS MADE JOKES, SHROUDING THE DAGGER IN HIS CLOAK . NOBODY IS LAUGHING NOW. Our constitution guarantees a speedy trial by his piers.Lets Roll.

Do these 3 Republicans have any moral authority to lecture the president on what he ought to do? Is this a party of narcissists who can never take responsibility of their own wrong doing??

Trump will be gone, but McCarthy, Greene and others will adopt his brand of lunacy in hopes that they can grab their slice of power.

I really don't see how a Republican who lived through the evidence of the insurrection cannot convict Trump. I mean last time Trump said don't call witness take my word and the Republicans basically said there was no evidence to convict. Not this time.

They are POLITICIANS. I question their, especially the Rupublicans, motivation to do the right thing by us citizens, and protecting their own positions of power and influence. They want to keep their positions and all the perks. And I think that's what will influence their decisions about whether to convict Trump. I feel more of them are operating more from fear of what they will personally lose rather than what is morally right.

If Republicans don't cut the cancer of Trump out of their party they don't have a party much longer. Yes it'll hurt and they'll lose some voters. Trump's planning his own political party anyway, so even if they don't do it willingly it's going to happen. They've already lost a lot of support.
However I'm not sure if the Republican Party at this time has enough left in it to be be worth saving.

The odds are against it. Maybe they should have said it more often. CNN keeps telling us what to think. What I think is Trump should be in jail and everyone that was part of that capitol riot should be also. That includes McConnell, Graham, Hawley, and Cruz. If we allow criminal acts on this level to go unpunished our country is over.
