Have you guys checked out Superman and Lois on the CW? I haven't seen it yet. Just wondering if that one is worth watching.

Winter Soldier is my favourite Marvel movie too, love the dynamic between Cap and Bucky. I hope Bucky gets to shine in this series too, no disrespect to Sam. I just like simpler heroes, my no 1 being Batman.
One thing I didn't understand was why does the Falcon need a bank loan to help his sister if he's doing dangerous covert ops for the military? Did I miss something? Is he not getting paid? It was a weird plot development.

Saw it … meh. The opening action sequence went on far too long, was poorly thought out and just dumb. Not sure where they are going with the Hand Gang, if it's the Red Right Hand (wolverine villains'), or if it's the Red Hand Gang (Venom villains') or if it is The Hand (Iron Fist/Defenders villains''), that part was fine. I did like the scenes with Bucky … unfortunately, I think there is a plan to ruin it. Overall I thought the episode was maybe a 5/10, I do not feel compelled to watch the next episode.

Disney is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get. Kathleen Kennedy keeps feeding us shit filled chocolates!
Marvel has been much better to us than Disney led Star Wars thankfully.
I really enjoyed WandaVision even with the slow burn start if got off to, I thought it fit with the the angle they were taking with it being all about Wanda’s emotional state. This show definitely got off to a faster start and it felt more like traditional Marvel for sure. I definitely agree that Captain Douchebag face is going to be an issue, but I think that was his purpose. I laughed as soon as you said he looked like a douche because I’ve been calling him Capt D-bag since I saw the episode. Its just the perfect description of him. I wasn’t crazy about the first episode but I definitely liked it quite a bit and thought it was well done from all sides. I liked getting a mire personal look at both characters and I did think you could feel for Bucky and how screwed up his head must be after everything that’s gone on with him. I like both characters and the actors that play them so I really hope that Marvel can keep delivering. Interested to see how they are going to explain more enhanced people showing up, both with the Flag Smashers and if Capt D-bag ends up being enhanced.
All in all I was pleased but not blown away, but also feeling very optimistic about where they kind of set themselves up to go with the show. Looking forward to the next episode.
I have a feeling that Capt D-bag is going to be the result of continued experimentation on recreating the Super Soldier formula. Although his must have been produced by Summer’s Eve. LOL!! Sorry, the dad joke was just raging to get out.

Great review ladies! Bucky pulled my heartstrings. I'm glad Marvel is giving us an inside look at PTSD & not hiding the fact that Bucky is dealing with it. I liked the 1st episode & groundwork that was laid.

Good morning ladies! It started off great! Got a little boring in the middle, but it is good. I don't think it is like Wandavision, but we can think different things. Not a fan of the ST. I thought that new Cap was a tool as well. Weird looking.

I…was a little underwhelmed. I love the MCU, I love CA:WS but it was just…missing something. I feel like we watched the very beginning of a movie and don't have enough context yet to see how things will go but so far I'm not as excited as I was and I really wanted to love it right out of the gate. I enjoyed the first couple episodes of WandaVision but that's because those were more my decades for sitcoms. This just felt like the long slow setup to what will probably be awesome down the line but isn't quite there yet. I did love seeing more of the characters though so I'm still hopeful.

And hopefully the remaining 5 episodes (so basically a 6 hour movie in total) will be an improvement as I really want to love it. I think it will VASTLY improve once Falcon and WS actually share the screen. Either way it gets us that much closer to Loki which is the one I'm most excited for!

I think we're used to getting a complete story from them so switching mediums for these particular characters is taking time to process. They're not really treating it like a show but rather a drawn out movie. I'm sure watching it back-to-back would be an improvement as well. But it's also fun to break it down in sections and theorize and talk to the community about this stuff so I don't know what the answer is.

I love shows and I didn't have this issue with Agent Carter or Agents of SHIELD (I don't care if they're not officially canon anymore, they always will be as far as I'm concerned) so I think it's more they're showing us the first 50 minutes of a movie PAUSE, next 50 minutes PAUSE. Just a longer movie so bigger chunks. WV still felt episodic. This one truly feels like a movie cut in sections so far.

I couldn't wait to watch every reaction possible for WV. I'm slowly but surely catching up on this one. I didn't even watch it at 3 am like I had been. Not sure what's different but definitely hoping it gets better! I love the characters so hopefully once they get to interact all will be well. (Kinda reminds me of CA:CW in that regard. It was so-so for me until they finally all got together and stuff really started happening. I don't mind a slow burn and buildup, and we needed to see where these characters were and what was going on with them, but I'm anxious to move things along I guess.)

Great analysis as always!

For the first episode, I thought it was pretty good. We are getting a back story of not only there life after the blip but also that they don't have Captain America who seem to be the glue that held them together. Sam feels he lost another wingman and it's not that he doesn't want to be the next Captain America since there's no replacing Steve Rogers. Same for Bucky. Steve was the only person that knew him as Bucky and not the Winter Soldier. Bucky's been a weapon for over 90 years and the only thing he really wants now is peace.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. I'm sticking to my decision to walk away from content under the Disney umbrella (Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar). I cancelled my Disney+ account after all of the Gina Carano crap.

I get your feelings totally. WandaVision was so unique (I loved it from ep1). And it was such it’s own thing and it made me realize that Marvel can take on most any story telling. Then Falcon & Winter Soldier was just like any other Marvel movie. It was fine. Good action scenes. But pretty standard Marvel. I think because it came out so close to WandaVision that I am comparing them automatically. Maybe with a few more episodes I will just accept it in its own terms.

I just finished rewatching all the Marvel movies in chronological order to get a better feel for WandaVision and in my opinion they could've scrapped the first three episodes altogether and edit all the fluff out of the remaining six and you might have a two hour movie, you have to remember there were about eight minutes of opening/closing credits & teasers per episode so that's over an hour to cut right there. From what I could gather, WandaVision was about Wanda's grief of losing her brother and Vision but all that was lost with the sitcom mysterybox format we were introduced to and dragged through for nine episodes. Since this was the series finale and not season finale we'll have to see it it picks up in another TV show or movie.

To my surprise Falcon and Winter Soldier was the next thing recommended by Mr. Disney so I gave it a try. I was expecting a warmup to how the show was going to go but instead they jumped into the middle of an action scene for the opening scene and then I started picking it apart scene by scene for the rest of the episode. It then cooled-down a lot for most of the episode pretty much turned into a sleeper with Falcon trying to get a loan, to Bucky going through therapy, and a few other sleepy scenes; the ending was no surprise either. I'll watch the next episode but hopefully it will get better and not become WandaVision 2.0.

So you are very correct. US agent is a douche in the comics but he does have a lightsaber. Also Falcons agent friend is from the comics. When Sam becomes Captain Falcon he becomes the new Falcon and his sidekick.

Sam's story really pulled me in. I really like that they are adding depth to him and that bank scene, I have been there. I worked for minimum wage for 9 years as a locksmith and then the owner sold me the business. 2 years in I whent to get a lone to care for grandma, dispite making 4 times what I did before these said until I had 3 tax returns I had no proof of income and then he asked me if I could get him a remote for his car for cheap

Winter Soilder is a scary metaphorical representation of what many believe is actually going on now. This is the Dark State, the Swamp, a group people who have over time taken over great instiutions of the US goverment. I will leave it at that.

I’m with you. First episode was just okay for me too. Contrast with WandaVision, which o adored out of the box. But I grew up watching old black and white sitcoms so I loved those first few episodes.

For falcon and the winter soldier, I’m just having a hard time in this post endgame world. I loved the infinity saga but I’m not ready to move past Tony and Steve. I just don’t want to spend time in a MCU without iron man and captain America.

I do love Sam and Bucky and their bro chemistry so I look forward to that.

I LOVED it! Granted, the MCU has my whole heart but it got me. After so many years with these characters, I am already attached. This more in-depth look at Sam and Bucky was great for me. This is the emotional impact the MCU has for me: who am I, what I am going to do with what I've been given, and what to do when it all goes sideways? I get saying "Oh Sam" and "Oh Bucky" the whole way through.

As for Sam giving up the shield, it makes complete sense. He immediately thought it felt like it belonged to someone else. This is the journey of understanding why Steve chose him.

I am SO ready for more!
