Laurence Fox: It’s Not a Crime to Offend Someone. Police Should Avoid “non-Crime Hate Incidents”.
In this clip from his longer #SWYSI interview (Full Interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBkwdpbKV9I ), London Mayoral candidate Laurence Fox of the Reclaim Party argues that the police need to be completely depoliticized, with all political statements removed from their uniforms etc.
The police should not be involved in policing “non-crime hate incidents” such as tweets and social media posts. These are situations where no crime has been committed but someone somewhere has complained of being offended. It is a ludicrous state of affairs. Who decides what hate is? Who gets to choose?
