Not fan of this, but I am pleased it will piss off 95% of London's population, that's a plus.

Wasn't Britain bent over by the blitz? One of the ultimate acts of terrorism / war in the last 100 years?

Tear down any statue or monument of British history and replace them with these kinds of thing surely its got nothing to do with indoctrinating and driving in the next phase of "white guilt"

The British weren't responsible for the Holocaust the Germans were. So what's the logic behind this?

Never mind logic and Leftists don't mix.

These people are twisted. I hope someone smashes a semi into that thing and takes it out. England has a LOT to be proud of. The British have an awful lot of bragging rights, they won the game of conquest. They were it’s final winners. The fact that these people want to drag you down and make you feel bad about yourselves is absolutely disgusting. Stand up for your nation, stand up for your neighborhood. I wish England nothing but the best and hope we can both make it out of this massive Marxist communist tyrannical push without losing ourselves. If the brits stand against this then I stand with them. Reject communism. Reject Marxism. Reject socialism. Make America and England great again.
Sincerely,
An American.

This is just typical "progressive," intersectional, backward thinking. "The Nazis did bad things, the Nazis were white, we're white, we did this!" *The thousand of alliance soldiers whe stormed the beeches of Normandy and ended the holocaust have entered the chat.

London should have a Holocaust Memorial, to remember what they did to help end it. When you see that memorial, hold your head high, because it's your Victory Monument.

So the British should feel guilty for being…bombed by the same government doing the Holocaust?

As I’ve learned more about human history, the immense emphasis the Holocaust gets becomes more and more strange. There is a Holocaust memorial museum in my town… not sure why.
When I was in 4th grade, my history teacher wheeled out a TV and played the most disturbing scenes from Schindler’s List, an R rated movie; for the class of like 10 year olds. As if the entire purpose was to mentally scar everyone with disturbing fucked up shit, which my school never did anything comparable before or after that.
A few years back, on “Holocaust remembrance WEEK” (a Texas gov sanctioned week to educate Texas students on the Holocaust), I was talking about this exact subject with my mom, who retired from writing textbooks a few years back. I mentioned to her how strange it is that if all the genocides and human atrocities, it’s odd that the Holocaust gets more attention than everything else combined, including more recent events with higher body counts.
My mom argued with me about this and I told her how my school never even taught me about the mass murders of the communists. I told her to go grab me a teachers edition of a high school history textbooks, and when she did I scanned the glossary looking for the Holocaust, and looking for other mass murders like the Holodomor, the mass murders of the Chinese communists, the Armenian genocide, the Japanese/Korean genocides, the Rwandan genocide etc…
Turns out the Holocaust and Hitler and the Nazis, got like 3 chapters, like 50 pages all together; while the Great Leap Forward and the ensuing mass starvations and genocides of the Chinese, got a singular sentence.
Every other genocide wasn’t even mentioned.

So, as far as Texas high schools go, they present mass murder and genocide as being something specific to the Holocaust and the jews/nazis. Ignoring every other genocide, even those that have happened in the 80 years since.
It’s unclear why this would be, but it certainly appears to be as I thought. From random ass Holocaust memorials, to Holocaust days/week, to a clear and unequivocal emphasis on the Holocaust over all other atrocities, it’s odd how important the Holocaust is seen to be, relative to any other human fuckery.

Yet they'll refuse to acknowledge Britain's instrumental role in ending the holocaust. In fact, prior to that Britain was also instrumental in ending slavery throughout the modern egalitarian world.

God forbid white cultures be given credit for the genuine good they've brought to the world. Nope, only condemn their failures.

I will be honest I think it is really stupid that we need to remember this event constantly. We should learn it in history but not reminded daily what happened. It is getting annoying to point that I am not starting to care, it is becoming stupid as the moaners about black slavery.
I get tired of my own American Indian tribes whine and complain about who did what.
If anything there should a monument for those that died from terrorist attacks. To remind everyone not to give into terrorism, that will strengthen the resolve of the British to not be afraid of these coward terrorist. How about a monument for the great things the British have accomplished? Instead we get a Jewish memorial to shame the British. 50 million pounds could have helped the homeless veterans or those actual British families that need it, how about those grooming gang victims ?

Suspect it’s the same reason that the United States gets criticism, despite liberating some of the freaking camps — Enforcing immigration laws and not opening the border

In retrospect, yes Congress should have expedited German Jewish refugees. But as the scope of the horror wasn’t even known until 1945, that’s a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking

I was a kid in the 80s and had a trip to the local Holocaust museum as a school trip when I was about 7. Looking back now, I realise that I've literally been propagandised my entire life to never stop thinking about the Holocaust. I'm so sick of it.

If they want to memorialise persecution maybe they could have a ststue to remind us of how we persecuted the Nazis to free the people they persecuted….

…. Maybe there was a significant British figure who embodied our resolve and determination at the time …. Maybe a politician,…. that Winston Churchill fella maybe? 🤔

These people don't distinguish between English and Germans. It's just different flavors of huwite. Therefore the English are just a different flavor of Nazi.

Come on now, the british are white and the germans are white, and lets be fair, all white people look the same, so clearly any europeans and anyone else who is not high on the oppression scale are all the same, and some of them were Nazi's, so clearly everyone whites fault.

To be fair we did come up with the concentration camps back in the Boer War in the late 1800s to the early 1900s and funnily enough the Spanish came up with internment camps during the 10 years’ war in Cuba.

Does that justify this Holocaust Memorial? No.

I remember my history lessons and remember what the Nazi’s did to the people that were sent there and if I’m not mistaken there is plenty of reading material and historical museums that one could go to.

Then theres the Russians…….

But nobody talks about the poor Kekistanies who have suffered and are oppressed even to this day, I hope the UK Government will build us a memorial of the Kekistanies who lost their memes and their shit posting rights.

"The messages and learnings that one should glean from its memorialisation are a powerful reminder of the universal values of fairness and justice that a democratic society has the responsibility to bestow upon its citizens." Just don't try to come near it if you haven't got a covid passport. Or if you're white or male. Or heterosexual. (This went on for quite a while so it's been edited for space.)
