Here is a tip, dont move to Austin. Might as well call the city, Little California. Move to Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, or Corpus Christi.

To say Austin is "conservative" is one of most ridiculous things I've heard in a while. Sam Sam is correct

I'm tired of hearing people claim that the country is "hyper polarized". Go back to 1776 and there's literally no difference in terms of polarization. This is why learning history is important. If people knew just how polarized America has ALWAYS been, I doubt we would have so many doomers running talking about how "split" our nation is.

Austin is doing their best to be like California. We have rampant homeless camps everywhere the city council is 100% Democrat. The couple Republican council members that were there pretty much gave up and left. The mayor wants lockdown everywhere as he runs off to Mexico for his vacations. I mean how much worse can Austin be to make this guy happy?

Yes. More of these stories. Fleeing CA because I am done advocating for not lunatic left policies in a state where two thirds by default vote for lunatic left policies. Would rather they all stay in CA and sink the state into the pacific.

Austin’s “progressive” policies have resulted in widespread homeless tent cities, trash, and crime a la L.A.

Lets be real here… He moved from San Diego (Conservative) to Austin(Democrat) … But he is associating the political leanings of the entire state.
I moved to Dallas, and he is totally correct about that bad driving point… but dang the people are too friendly here, the food is awesome, place is great. Send these scrubs back where they came from, but let me stay please.

Moving to Texas is a bad idea. That state is going to flip blue within a decade from all the demographic changes. You're better off moving to one of the unpopulated northern states if you're trying to get away from the failed left-wing government policies.

I’m so confused by stories like this. I’m a very left-leaning Texan. I love it here, and LOVED my solo road trip exploring California. I’m in a big Texas city, sure, and bigger cities typically do lean more left, but I’ve also spent time in very small town Texas and loved it too. While there, I got along great with the meat and potatoes, cattle ranching, elderly crew, but I also found many new age artists.

I’ve also driven all across the deep south, and in fact, most of my extended family is in Louisiana and the Carolinas. Oh and also? I’m a bisexual trans person! I pass fully as male, but have my hair long and wear whatever I want. My family is so across the board: Democrats, Republicans, independents, straight, gay/bi, transsexual (just me lol), Christian, pro-choice and pro-life, agnostic and atheist – our family gets along very well.

So pardon me if I’m mystified by allllll the people on all sides of the aisle, b!tching about how awful the other side is. Most people are reasonable, if you’re reasonable. Most people are welcoming, if you’re welcoming. Are some people -phobic, hateful, and looking for trouble? Absolutely! But more often, people are at most uncomfortable or intimidated by what they don’t understand – and even then, they’re usually willing to put that aside and come to an understanding.

If I, a bisexual, transsexual, left-leaning native Texan can get along with 99.8% of every American I’ve met – from coast to coast and everywhere in between – then maybe people like this dude and many others need to buck up and be reasonable adults.

San Jose? Really? I grew up there, and in the 90s it took 40 minutes to go anywhere. Horrible traffic that's only become worse, gangs, crime, and corrupt cops, I'd never go back there, even for a visit.

you no longer need to work.
No, you still will work, you have simply lost the ability to chose what kind of work you will do.

What a tool!
If I didn't have children where I am, who's mother holds custody, then I'd be on my way out of Washington. My oldest's mother moved to Texas just before election, my daughter is happy and in school making friends and developing. I'm still in Washington for my son.

5 Things To Consider Before Relocating (from California): 1. Republicans did not make your taxes high or your house expensive. 2. Nobody cares that you're from California. 3. The United States allows for free movement between states. If we WANTED California, we'd MOVE there! 4. If you relocated because of hardships in your state: you're a REFUGEE, not a MISSIONARY. 5. When the Beach Boys sang "I Wish They All Could Be California Girls," they didn't mean they wished every girl acted like a Californian; they meant that they wanted all the hot girls from different states to move to CA because they LIKED the girls from other states! 6 (because I'm just that generous!). California is a VERY big state; maybe you'd like somewhere else in California if your present city just isn't your speed.
