15 seconds in and the take is: Is anyone suprised or didn't see coming the inevitable failure of stadia even as it came out?

Google would've fared better by giving SEGA cash to develop another console.

I'm a developer and i can kinda answer your question about why they (the developers) thought that google would be different:
In software development world google is seen as the key to success, if you get a job there you can get a job anywhere. Not only that but it is said by ex google employees that there they had access to the 3 most desired things most programmers want: Great technology to work on, great food, and great coffee!.
In the end I think they thought that google was that promised neverland. Maybe they are (since i'm a developer I still belive that), but not for game development!

I'm just laughing at all the clowns who paid for Stadia and still have been trying to convince the rest of us (mostly themselves) that Stadia is/was good. It was trash from the beginning. Never had a single moment when I thought it would be successful from Google.

I figured that google did it on purpose, or at least the back up plan was exactly where they are now. Making video games requires a lot more work and risk than corporations such as google are interested in.

They did effectively get othet companies interested in streaming, and google were creating server farms all over the place long before announcing stadia. Nvidia and anyone else that creates streaming services probably don't have the servers required, so they likely rent those from google.

I could obviously be wrong. But let's look at the early days of Steam.. they provided a service which a lot of companies either couldn't or wouldn't want to provide.

If you look at the streaming rush as more of a bait and switch.. google kind of faked it all. Like a cartoon where one person riles up the other, only for the entire race to have been a ruse.

Now google are standing there watching from the sidelines as everyone else runs around doing all the work, all while paying google for access to that same track.

Nobody wants to pay $60 per game only to see compressed stream quality and lose access to the game as soon as the service becomes unprofitable.

Google says VGC's report "was inaccurate and reported hearsay as fact" and that VGC's assertions about cancelled Kojima and Yu Suzuki “projects” are not true.

It takes years to build an audience for your product. And the fact that they gave up in only one year is a complete joke.

The more I learn about Stadia the more I'm convinced the entire operation was just an elaborate money-laundering scam.

Honestly, I'll be laughing when another company comes out with a "Stadia Competitor" and leaves Google in the dust. Now's the time to do it given how bad Stadia's management is. Moral of the situation, never invest in something made by Google, or even something outside the scope of the parent company. I give Stadia a year at most before Google kills it completely and tries to act like it never happened.
