Yong speaks as if he’s surprised, despite this already being confirmed when the port was announced.

They gonna release the 3 games individually is my guess.

Boycott Nintendo… we have to send them a message. If you take away Mario…we'll stop buying Mario altogether going forward

Ninte
Nintendo thinks games are like action figures with limited edition sales. This is why i emulate all my Nintendo games.

I really don't understand why Nintendo do these kind of practices. It seems counter-intutive to put an expiration date on something that is clearly in demand and would still make bank much later after its release. I mean its not like Nintendo have anything to lose by extending the games lifespan on the digital store and Mario is one the biggest names in the game industry so I don't think Nintendo are being smart or consumer friendly by putting pressure on people to buy something within a short window of time. What about the people who want to buy the game but dont currently have a switch and are working towards getting one so that they could by something that would encourage the idea of buying a switch? Nintendo make good games but some of their practices are not welcome or fair to the people who support their games in the first place. Shame on you Nintendo! Shame on you!!

huh. Correction one will have until one's Nintendo Switch breaks and Nintendo comes out with another console and decides one has to repurchase in order to have again (virtual console, eshop).

I guess it is not pirating if they refuse to sell it

Joyfully emulating Wind Waker with Dolphin after replaying Ocarina of time and Majora's Mask with Project64…

Its because they're gonna sell them separately with a higher cost per game… just watch.

Conspiracy theory: Nintendo put this limit on Mario 3D All Stars to encourage the spike in sales from scalpers and people with fomo. As soon as it's about to go into the vault, they'll come out with some statement about how they're not going to do it and that they're listening to their community and then keep it on the market.

Benefits:
*Spike in sales (maybe even of switches)
*Good pr for "correcting" a community slight
*Plenty of news articles about their "good deed" (free ads)
*The rest of the lifetime profit of the game

It would make a little sense if they plan to add these games to their online subscription in a few months, but they've been so slow to add games outside of NES and SNES games that I wouldn't hold my breath for it.

Imagine limiting a digital release of game lmao. Back to emulating these games in 4k-8k with better controls and mods.

If Nintendo didnt have idiots that literally only bought their stuff for the sake of nostalgia for a brand that has been zombified for years, they wouldn’t last a week

Baffles who exactly? Because as far as I know, EVERYONE already knew about it months ago, and they complained since the announcement. So no idea who are you referring to.

I don't doubt that it will sell well due to FOMO, their reputation will also take a hit from resorting to such nasty tactics.

I'd pull a surprised pikachu face meme but with the way Nintendo's been acting with how they hate piracy but pull stunts that makes people turn to piracy, I feel like I should use another meme that doesn't use Nintendo products:

Nintendo: Limits their game.
Fans: Turn to piracy.

Nintendo: Surprised Agumon face

I think their fiscal year ends March 31. So making it available only until March 31 would be to boost their Q4 sales and Year-end numbers.
