No way this happens again imo. At least not exactly how this was done. So many reasons this would be VERY hard to repeat. Not least of which, tens of millions of other investors would want in on it. That subreddit went from 2mil to almost 9mil really quick. Greed among enough people would cause most of us to not "hold the line". Second, not all stocks get into this situation. You couldn't do this to AMZN or TSLA for example. Then the stock needs to have heavy short leverage. Also, before the dust even settled the week this was going on, you could download apps that scan subreddits looking for these posting patterns. Caught once, it seems extremely likely all hedge funds would by monitoring for this possibility going forward. I just think it is impossible for regular people to pull this kind of group together without notice outside or inside again.
