It's about to get worse for them too. Now the Koreans have entered the ring. And one of manhua's selling points is that it's designed to read on phones.

If ever you need to know the west is lost in development, Tanya The Evil would not be allowed because it touches on sensitive subjects. But because it's going down that road I'm so excited to see what they do. It's the lure of creativity. I've got a million ideas of what will happen, I wanna see if any of them are correct or something even I didn't think of.

With modern marvel and DC you know the end before the third page. FYI, it's dogshit

Not to be THAT guy but YOUVE answered this question plenty of times. Its not that they’re “creatively bankrupt”…it’s being done PURPOSEFULLY. They don’t WANT to hire good writers, they WANT to hire SJW hacks and push political narratives. They don’t care about the money, they’ll get bailed out in some “Covid relief bill”. It’s about changing the culture, they need to destroy before they can build. For instance they can’t have a politician come out and say “pedophelia is cool”…they need to plant the seed in our culture. Once kids see Batman and Google Batman and find out he’s a trans POC that’s gender fluid and minor attracted who has drag kid side kicks and saves the day…THEN the politician comes out and says “ hey maybe it’s time to get over that pedophopia”. It’s a purposeful attempt to change our culture and normalize this cancer. Like you always say man culture leads the way. It’s not about creating…it’s about destroying

The Japanese make better stories about white people too.
Attack on Titan, Gundam, JoJo, etc..
And when I go to cons I couldn't count how many black Gokus and Narutos (in cosplay) I see running around even though those characters aren't that.
It's almost like race and making a story that resonates with people have nothing to do with each other. Make the story you want to make in the setting you want it to be in about good characters that make sense in that setting and people of every color will love the story!

Speaking of the Japanese willing to take chances and being way more creative than these talentless hacks in the mainstream. I stumbled across a new Anime called Wonder Egg Priority. It has girls as main characters that go into the dream world to save other girls who have literally suffered from all kinds of depressing and traumatic mental and physical abuses, which resulted in them killing themselves and showing up in these dream as eggs…thats right eggs.

If the eggs gets cracked, the girls who died hatches from egg and the main character(s), who are dealing with their own real world problems, have to protect them from getting killed by these nightmarish illustrations of what these girls where suffering from while they were alive, and are trying to kill them in the dream…

Yeah wtf…

I abandoned Marvel and DC when they started pushing their PC garbage. I am thankful for shows like One Punch, they let me still enjoy my heroes. (My hero academia is pretty good, and Attack on Titan is bomb)

I tried to get my daughters, yes daughters, into comics. No interest. They read the fuck out of Manga. There's Manga all over my house, and Anime on all the time.

Oh, and if they want to use the identity excuse… my multiracial daughters.

Not just that about One Punch and MHA. Both were created by a single individual, one guy created One Punch and ALL the characters that exist in it. And one guy created MHA and ALL the characters that exist in it. Marvel and DC are completed wasted at this point.

Manga is successful because critics don't dictate what the fans want. Come to think of it american critics are liberal arts graduates. Get hired through pure elbow grease. They need to feel special for that rush of dopamine so they flex their useless degree by attacking anything with what their professors told them. It's all making sense.

I think creativity is lacking a little or I've just done got to old to understand the new way. It's hard to find things entertaining now. Every body has a agenda, my goodness. Just have a agenda of making feel good entertainment. I've had enough of, I just want to show you people have it bad. I know I am people, it's bad. I want good

I have so many creative ideas. Ideas for fresh new movie plots, scenes that are incredible. Problem is, I'm a fkn nobody so when I try to talk to someone about them, I can't even get in the door. This is why everything is stale at the moment. Nobody new gets a chance, it's all the same people with the same ideas.

What it comes down to is true talent vs nepotism. Marvel and DC would rather play the woke card and hire people who aren't talented but have political views and are diversity hires. Meanwhile in Japan it's the exact opposite. They hire based on talent and merit not some diversity hire bullshit. They have competent writers of both sexes over in Japan. And given how competitive it is over there they gotta be original their properties.

Manga/anime have their issues as well, like throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks, but at least the creators are trying write interesting characters and stories. If they don’t, the studios won’t hesitate to give creators the boot. Look at what happened to Tite Kubo

Most american "creatives" are trying to virtue signal instead of create something. That or get a Netflix series.

Haven't bought a western comic since 2012.

Though, I did just buy the entire Urusei Yatsura manga series, and Tonikaku Kawaii volume 5 is on pre order.

We need to be careful. Western companies are slowly pushing their way into anime/manga and are looking to corrupt and take over the industry to push their own agendas. We can never allow that to happen.

Give them some slack – it's hard for an AI to characters with human characteristics. They're doing the best their programming allows.

They basically believe that making a totally new cartoon or comic character is impossible. That's what they believe. They just keep telling on themselves with their actions. Hahahaha. I think there's a part of their brains that just didn't grow up. It never developed into an adult. I feel like we're the parents and they are the kids. I bet they grew up in a house where the dad never said things like "don't make me pull this car over and give everyone a whooping". See, these are the kind of adults you end up when you get rid of things like spankings and alpha male teachings. You end up with children in adult bodies trying to push their wrong ideas.

I’ll be honest, as much I like reading manga ( My favorite is Made in Abyss ), I wouldn’t say anime/manga are the best or perfect.
I’m not saying comics are great either ( I mean, look at all of the comics starring characters with waaaay too many colors or characters being progressive or something ).
I’m just saying I enjoy both medium, it just I don’t see one is better than another.

Stopped watching anime and reading manga when i realized the industry is just as creatively bankrupt. It's really not that impressive, they also regurgitate same stories and character archetypes ad nauseum. Difference is they still like big titties, hot chicks, cute girls, cool dudes and over the top action.

Gintama and One punch man are the only ones I can watch because they try satire and do different things among their peers. Not to say they're different all the time, but enough where it counted.

I think another good point of comparison in manga would be the old school series that are still going by the same authors. Big ones off the top of my head are One Piece and JoJo, 20+ years by both series that are still going pretty strong and every time a new chapter releases, especially for One Piece we get tons of new powers, story, designs, characters, etc. And even the characters that have stuck around all this time have grown exponentially, yet still are true to their original vision. This is 1 guy writing a story WEEKLY for over 20 years that can still pump out as much creativity in the newest arc as when they first set sail.
