What is your take on the “Walking simulator” genre? Here’s our review of Sea of Solitude Director’s Cut on Nintendo Switch! Hopefully I got my thoughts across in a succinct way with this one. Let me know what you think of the game. Mark

Am I the only one that wishes there was a survival-craft open world game on the switch that had similar art style of Sea of Solitude?

Can we get a review of Everhood 🙂 it for me is easily an early contender for game of the year, it deserves more hype!

Played it on PS4 and loved the atmosphere and story. Biggest gripe for me back then was that the director voiced Kay, which is admirable, but she wasn’t very good. Sounds like they changed to a different voice actress in this edition, which really is a good choice.

Excellent review Mark. I do like the look of this game. I’ll wait for a sale.

Reminds me of Gris, in that it's fun enough but it's message is told in a really basic fashion and no deeper than a doodle in a teenagers school book

I will definitely buy it on sale, as I was always interested to play it. I'm glad I will be playing an improved version.

Played this on Xbox and finished it in one sitting. A small but enjoyable game.

This looks like an awesome game! One of my all time favorite games was Beyond: Two Souls (also created by Quantic Dream) and I got more engrossed in the story than any other game I have played. So I'm really excited to see them porting a game to the Switch! Definitely gonna be watching out for this going on sale.

100% agree with you regarding price. If it was more like 6 hours then maybe I'd be ok with it but 4 hours max is not worth 25 quid. I may feel differently down the line but thanks for the honest review as always.

I think given the pandemic & other circumstances in the world, most of us aren't looking to play a walking simulator about living with depression & personal demons (or whatever). I'm sure it's a great game for those who are open to it, but this type of narrative tends to feel self-indulgent to me. When I do want to dive into deep, dark themes & revel in melancholy, I seek that in a novel or film, not a video game.

Looks really good, and I'm definitely sold after your review. I do appreciate Quantic Dream as a publisher as well, would love Heavy Rain/Beyond Two Souls on Switch!

I like slow paced games as long as the story keeps me interested. I think this is one I’ll try, but not at full price. Thanks for the video 🙂

Depends on the walking simulator. Loved Gone Home. Played half of Layers of Fear before I got frustrated with the idea of that one.

Are the frames ACTUALLY that bad in handheld? Or is it just a recording issue?

"The cinema, this is not." That was meant to be a slight, but it's a positive thing from my perspective. I'd much rather shell out for this carefully crafted game/story than sit through another Disney/Marvel cgi wankfest.
