Honestly, completely disagree with the topic of Dramatic Finishes. In all honesty, the rarity of them makes them that extra bit special, and if someone skips it? Well, I know who not to play with anymore for ruining the hype, or can at least indulge in knowing just how salty they have to be in that very moment.

However, as a side note, perhaps they could replace, or make dramatic finishes more of an instant kill mechanic like in BB/GG, could be interesting to see what a Dragon Ball take would be on something like this, and give each and every character something unique in that fashion, rather than leaving it to only certain pairings.

Instead of having transformations being power ups, why not just have them be moveset changes? Then you could do transformation combos, ie using ssj vegetas consecutive energy blast and following up with blue vegetas big bang attack, plus it fixes the problems with installs

If we do beam clashes I think it should be meter reliant, for example. Goku (Ssj) lvl 1 vs Basegeta galick gun. But goku has 5 bars to pour out and gets has 6. Sorta like how clashes in injustice worked.

9:18 The only reason dramatic finishes are rare is because it's skippable, If it wasn't then I'm sure you'd see them more often. No point in trying to work for something That just gets Skipped.

Especially after working so hard to try to get one.

I think they should let the full autocombo still come out on whiff, but don't let it autocorrect the direction while whiffing

11:39 in dragon ball legends (a mobile game for iOS and android) there are beam clashes but you don't mash you have to time a button press and if you timed it better then your opponent then you win the beam clashes maybe fighters2 could have that type of beam clashes

I'm inclined to disagree with one statement. "Dbzf being one of the only fighters to do Auto-combos right."

Persona 4 Arena I think did it best. Not only was it good for entry level play, but it even had applications in pro level because the main auto-combo attack which is usually the 2-3 hit into the string (An attack you did not have access to outside of auto-combo) gave you more meter for less damage (more proration)

Dbzf auto-combo system at pro-level is usually just for height correction in aircombos to my knowledge unless they have a ground bounce or something built in.

Idk if this is a good idea but if the transformation is tied with a comeback mechanic like in the show. And that a more skilled Player cannot do one if he is evenly matched with a non skilled player

one thing i would like if we could create are own character that we can unlock abilities of other characters for and setup fighting styles for them would be super cool and fun

Maybe beam clashes could take certain amounts of bar of your choosing? So you can decide how much winning the beam clash means to you, if you're in the lead you won't want to spend any bar on a bit of damage but if you're about to die you could burn all your meter to get some damage back.

Or instead of meter, you can call one of your assists to jump in the way of the beam for you and take damage to that assist rather than you.

Idc about ‘plot’ in a fighting game but it’s going to have one so have it centre around some fusion gimmick. Gives the developers the freedom to create new characters (fantasy fusions) without breaking away from the established brand.

Expansive Maps, where if you get knocked out, it would bring you to 1 of 3 locations for that location or knock you to a brand new one, NEW Chars, add transformations instead of making them Seperate Characters and allow the Transformations to give you new combos/special moves like Budokai Tenkaichi 3, or a selection of skins for a char that give them access to 'transformations' before the match that minorly change some of their specials or combos but not damage like in the Ninja Storm games

For the beam clash issue I think that instead of mashing make it like a quick time event and who ever presses the right button fastest wins

Marc Lui

I have a great idea:
Instead of a button mashing system for beam clashes. You can implement the clash system from Injustice 2 that works really well. Each opponent can wage an amount of bar and whoever wages the most bar gets to inflict damage on the opponent.

Im sure Shueisha would allow us to do the customization aspect. Take a look at Xenoverse, or hell an official game like Zenkai battle royale. No CACs, just established characters in whacky costumes and color combos.

I think beam clashing would be great if it was an option in like a ring match or arena matches so it isn't in actual matchea but still available

they should add beam clashes but make it a timing thing instead of a button mash and for power ups like you said it would be perfect for each powerup to have their ups and downs

I think beam clashes with the way rising rush works in Legends could work really well. It basically works like a rock paper scissors match where you have to guess what your opponent is gonna press.

I would like to see supers that knock the opponent through the back and front of the stage possibly transporting you to a different spot. Level 3s or level ones could work. Imagine goku doing a kaoken and kicking the opponent through the background only to chase after him to continue the super. such as in this clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZyHCD6WnYo

Honestly why don't they make transformations like breakaways in MK11? If you're getting juggled too much you can just "transform" and create some distance. That's where customization could come in, like everyone could get 1 "transformation" (breakaway) but how could Goku go from SSJ to SSJ3? You could pick any of the SSJ's except the last one. Something along those lines.

Well you can transform mid combo with frieza

i dont think transformations would break the game, considering that if everyone transforms to broken levels, it isn't broken anymore because everyone is, for example if everyone had 200k health in xenoverse, 20k damage would no longer be alot.

Personally, I think beam clashes could actually work in a competitive setting. I would have be a "Rock, Paper, Scissors" mechanic similar to Kill la Kill IF. Three options appear and it then becomes a mental game. Do you want more health, meter or damage? I understand that Shenron kind of does this but if this system were in place it would add a whole new lair to the gameplay. Injustice had a sort of gambling system that was great in concept, where two players wager meter to win a clash, but that system led to people maxing meter then clashing. RPS would handle beam clashes beautifully and I hope we can get something like that in a future installment

I feel like adding more original characters like Android 21 would be a cool way of making the story mode more interesting. I like the idea of having an original non-canon story to FighterZ with a new villain character for each arc.

Ahmed Hamzic

Transformations should be more prevalent but they shouldn’t be overdone. Goku blue could have a UI transformation. Base Goku could have a super saiyan transformation with a ssj3 super. It would be a nice way of lowering the number of Goku characters and of nerfing UI Goku 🤣.

Also, maybe it’s just me, but there’s gotta be a Mr.Satan DLC in a FighterZ 2.

Couple ideas didn't see mentioned:
– Make it 2v2. While it can be seen as a step backwards, it can introduce many features and keep the level of complexity while, hopefully, solving the endless block strings that 2 assists allow. And mixing it up a little.
– Even make it 1v1 and add some kind of assist system à la the first Marvel games, with a fuckton of side characters to choose from.
– Introduce beam clashes in the form of meter wagers, in a similar manner to Injustice. Not a big fan of that but hey, at the very least you'd have them and keep the game competitive.
– Installs also should have a bigger presence. Make it a core system, not just an install super copied 1:1 from another game. The idea you gave about changing base Goku to Super after teammates are down is a good idea, something like that, just absolutely integrated into the game systems, not an afterthought.

Beam clashes can be done like in budokai 3 where you had to time the button to as close to the end. whoever got it closer won so you don't have to mash to do a beam clash

Since almost every transformation in Dragon Ball is just a stat and visual change
Pretty much no one gets new abilities through transformations
