First lady Melania Trump made her first solo appearance of the fall campaign with a stop in southern Pennsylvania, where she blasted Joe Biden’s “socialist agenda,” and accused Democrats of “wasting taxpayers’ dollars on a sham impeachment.”
Polls show President Donald Trump’s Democratic opponent with a single digit lead in the Keystone State, and the president and first lady campaigned separately Tuesday.
Trump traveled to Michigan, while the first lady spoke in Atglen, a small community east of Lancaster, Pa.
The first lady spoke just weeks after testing positive for the coronavirus along with the president and their son, Barron. She said she experienced the effects of COVID-19, not just as a patient, “but as a worried mother and wife.” She also offered her thoughts and prayers to Americans whose lives have been impacted by the virus.
She then laced into Biden and the Democrats over the president’s impeachment.
