Have to disagree on this one. I was originally of the same opinion, but much like Lost when it was airing, a lot of fun with Wandavision has been reading the speculation and seeing what little things they've added to each episode that might be the hint towards the bigger story.

Little teases towards Agnes being Agatha, the possibility that Mephisto may be connected (which would make an awesome Doctor Strange 2 connection and eventual Strange villain, plus there's the rumor that Marvel may be gearing up to bring Johnny Blaze's Ghostrider into the MCU which makes Mephisto a must), the Hydra stuff that I've seen people linking the New Jersey location being in the vicinity of when we last saw Zola in Winter Soldier, even numerical references equating to the year & issue number of past comic books involving Wanda & Vision. The first 2 episodes, moreso in the third, altering the picture format depending on Wanda TV vs reality was something I picked up as a neat early aspect of how they're using multiple methods of giving the audience clues.

That's actually been kind of fun with the weekly release format.

These 'writers' think that people follows comics because of superpowers and epic fights. No. People who follow comics do it for the trails and struggles of these 'unfortunatly' gifted people.

i am 35.. when i was a kid, i watched 50-80's shows reruns on weekends or when i was sick on week days.. so i dont mind that the overall arc's pacing wasnt that fast in the first 3 episodes… honestly.. i would have liked a Wanda Vison show ( without the MCU connection ) just as the first episodes style 8-10 ep series.. it was so nostalgic for me…

Wanda cant sneeze without accidentally altering reality.
Carol danvers cant get her rocks off without crowing about how great she is and how awful penis owners are.
Wanda can literally alter reality to make carol either not exist or take away her powers completely or even make her into “carl” danvers.
You do the math.

Anyone else getting the impression they may be priming Monica Rambeau to step in as the next Captain Marvel? I'm hoping that all this stuff with Wanda ends up leaving Monica with powers, and that she's able to take the Captain Marvel mantle – at the very least – for Earth, since Brie Larson's too much of an a-hole to stick around her home planet.

I mean really, she showed up for a day or two in her movie then left, then came back just long enough to be pimp slapped by Thanos into the next scene. It'd be nice to have Monica Rambeau be Captain Marvel for us for a while. Give the current one a Brie-ther. Get it? A BRIE-THER!

They are going to address the accent. My take is this is an American sitcom so no accent, but she got it back temporarily when she threw Monica out. Agree with the binging. It would have been better if they released the first 4 episodes at once.

Scarlet Witch at first, in the comics, was not very powerful with her powers. She was doing things by accident more than on purpose. It wasn't until later when she was fully developed and her powers were OP. So I don't have a problem with her power creep.

Anyone remember in Marvel Zombies when human Quicksilver tried saving who he thought was Wanda, but really it was zombie Mystique who tricked him and thus infected him shortly after, which then led to Pietro zooming across the planet and infecting everyone? Scary stuff.

Yeah, Carol Danvers was a pretty interesting character up until she became Captain "Mary Sue" Marvel. Hell, even when she was the over powered Binary, she was still a hell of a lot more interesting (in regards to her personality) than she currently is as Captain Marvel.

Seems like Disney forgot what a lot of comic readers also forgot over years. Carol Danvers was originally made as a sex object. Nothing more. Trying to push her character further never worked out for marvel. Few stories did she have any relevance. Hers was never a popular character by mainstream standards.

This much is true for many characters, of many creeds. But there are always front runners too. Scarlett witch was never extremely popular, until around house of M. But in terms of set power, Wanda was potentially the most powerful. Alas, when speaking in terms of storylines with comics, they are told over years. We know what Batman is capable of because we’ve seen his character established over time. With cap marvel it was literally “here’s one movie as to why she’s so powerful”.

We’ve come to expect more from an industry so many of us care about. You throw us a shell of a character with no established history and no built up lore, of course we’ll ask “wtf?” But if you play to that characters strengths, then it comes natural. There are literally tons of stories to pull from. Just do them justice.

Carol Danvers became rubbish when they retconned her from barely holding it together as Firebird and her borderline alcoholism to being literally the character and history of a real world male test pilot whose surname I forget but it’s no wonder the art followed nature as Carl Manver’s real name is Chuck.

Honestly I don’t know if she got Mahr’Vel’s powers in Ultimates, but her being an abrasive asshole like everyone else in the setting might’ve been interesting

I've pretty much dropped out of the MCU since I was so disappointed in Endgame. Figured Spiderman: Far From Home would be a good stopping point.

I hope all this push for carol danvers is a setup for Rogue to come into the MCU and use that wooden board, err i mean b****,, grr slippery fingers… i meant to say use capt. Marvel as a stepping stone to a actual good character ( Hopefully she is written well with a actual good actress)… never know it's Disney..

I don't take the MCU seriously anymore. They kept nerfing Hulk that now he has no purpose, not outstanding strength nor intelligence. Then Scarlet Witch just kept getting more stronger and stronger because "Yass kween slay!" and nothing else. Now they want to replace Brie Larson because BLM. Nobody mention the original Captain Marvel was a man who had such an iconic run that they retired the character and never brought him back to life. But it's current year, Marvel's going to do identity politics as much as they can

People watching the show: Don't you dare make Wanda the antagonist!
Beast, Elsa from Frozen and Te-Fiti from Moana: are we a joke to you?

Allow me to explain: Disney has been making stories more and more complex, where lines of good and bad are blurry. In Beauty and the Beast, we get a vantage point of Belle interacting with the Beast, but from the vantage point of the villagers, Gaston is the hero and Beast is a dangerous monster. In Frozen, while Hans turns out to be the "villain" by manipulating Anna, most of the story is about how Elsa's powers are a threat to everyone around her (in the original story, the Snow Queen was in fact the villain who froze the heart of Christoph). Finally, the most clear-cut example is the villain Te-Ka, who turns out to simply be Te-Fiti who lost her heart and wanted to get it back.

Having Wanda create a pocket universe where she deals with her sorrow by escaping reality would be a perfect example of how people with trauma may be retreating from reality to avoid facing their pain, and in the case of Wanda, she can actually create her own reality (as seen in the comics).

Having an external force manipulating her for an ulterior motive would still seem reasonable, but at the same time her being the "antagonist" of the show would make perfect sense as well, and part of her character development would be how she copes with her trauma.

Another point: in the promos, it seems Vision is facing Wanda off in some sort of showdown, which would suggest that he finds out what is going out and confronts her on this. This reminds me of an episode from the Justice League cartoon called Legends, where some Justice League members travel to a parallel dimension where a group of super heroes similar to them fight crime constantly, but something is off. In the end, it turns out that the city was nuked years ago, and the reason the city is still intact is because the team's biggest fan got reality manipulating powers from the radiation, allowing him to revive the super-heroes, while trapping the other surviving town's people in this fake reality. When the super-heroes figure the truth out, they proceed on attacking their creator, who in turn is knocked out, returning the city to its normal, ruined state, allowing the town's people to finally move on and rebuild.

They did have a scene where it's the school news report from Peter's school talking about the people getting snapped back and clips of people reappearing. The clip of the peoplebeing snapped back in the middle of the air got kind of dark.
