the ''quote'' 'we haven't seen a ghost in 30 years' means that the 2016 garbage is not canon and a comedy parody meaning it,s not part of any time line of the original movie,s after life is. the leftist seem to forget that it,s a gb 2016 is a comedy film

Kneon and Geeky talking about how Winston from Shadowbinders is named after the Winston from Ghostbusters was so cute. They’re just great together!

The desperation is real, people. "We haven't seen a ghost in 30 years" is pretty clear. 2016 GB was NOT in this universe.

They teased it with the statement "Thirty years ago four scientists saved New York" – which was a sign of the appalling ignorance and arrogance of those making the film: There were only THREE scientists and their assistant. Winston was an important part of the story, but he wasn't a scientist. To be this unaware of their source was an obvious sign of what was to come.

these movies wont go away so long as more movies are made in their respective franchises. especially if they retcon them out of existence.

When this movie came out, i defended it because alot of people were jumping to conclusions and i have a severe dislike for when people do that. A LOT of original movies flopped hard because of this kind of give no shit never give a chance attitude so its no surprise we just get recycled franchises nonstop now. Natural causality from not giving new franchises and original ideas a try.

Specifically at the time i didn't see much evidence that ghostbusters 2016 was going to do the whole woke thing, and at the time woke wasn't really that significant either. With my mentality not really becoming sensitive to it yet. When you watch the movie through the lense of someone not touched by politics it wasn't bad.

It wasn't good either, but i was able to enjoy it.

The way they've behaved since though has proven the motivations behind their decisions to gender swap and have chris hemsworth in the male bimbo role. They've made it clear it was one of the first major idiotic movies for its time. If they just shut up and let people have an opinion, i'd still be able to defend it somewhat. But yeah, i guess that is because feminism was not nearly as close to as bad as all the other woke nonsensical politics these days too. It didn't invoke as strong a reaction in me either even though i've since learned how damaging and poisonous it is to everyone involved.

I view it as a comedy version of ghostbusters, like you would consider scary movie compared to scream. They should really try to own that, rather than try to act as if its a serious ghostbusters continuation of some kind.

I look forwards to the next movie and i have yet to rewatch ghostbusters 2016.

Even from the lense of someone not touched by politics (at the time) the movie didn't stand the test of time.

who cares what the tumbling twatterites want or care about their ships or god awful fanfics, there's not enough of them to carry a franchise eitherway…

The only reason why MSM likes Ghostbusters 2016 is because it divides people and pits one side against another. They're kinda pathetic in how much they have to watch groups of people fight.

Yes it's dead. Just because a bunch of lame media talk about it, doesn't mean you have to pay attention to them.
Don't give them sunlight.

I hope they have the ghosts of the 2016 Ghostbusters in GB Afterlife when it comes out. It would be a cool Easter Egg and the crowd will cheer if it happens!

I never saw it. Honestly I never wanted to. I looked at the trailers and reviews and it looked stupid. The new premise is women are great. That's not enough.
The first was great. The 2nd was pretty good. It's about the writing and the legacy.
And I love Winston too. His interview, him talking to Ray about end times, meeting the mayor, and his line about tools and talent. He's the normal guy on the team. He's basically a plumber or whatever. He's a blue collar Joe. I can relate to that.
Plus Ernie was great in the Crow. And apparently he's a nice guy. Even better.

LOVE the irony – the 2016 cast getting pissed that a new film is ignoring theirs. Do you understand how fans felt in 2017 yet Leslie?

As a Ghostbusters fan since 1987, I just want to say that 2016 reboot jokes are terrible, and the only one of the them kind of acted like a person was Wigg character. And that's it, they were like bad caricatures.

what'd you expect? Ghostbusters was the first movie to start the trend of "woke" in the first place. Of course, the media and Twatter weirdos are not gonna let it go because to them it's a threat to all that they "fought" for in the last 5 years

Not expecting much of this movie either. Just don't like the idea of kids taking over a duty that was made for adults. Dont think it will be as bad as 2016, but will be bad anyway.

To be fair, the 2016 cast and crew did it to themselves by making a film that was tonally VERY different to the previous movies (AND doing it as a reboot). How is Jason Reitman supposed to incorporate something that was a goofball adlibbed SNL sketch in to a deep and moving film about loss and death? Yeah I know it has comedy and crazy action, but that is intertwined with an actual story that packs a punch with Egon and Harold Ramis' passing.

The 2016 Ghost Busters film was unfunny, preachy, unnecessary, and audiences to listen to hated it. Critics seem more or less paid off to give glowing reviews. If I had to watch Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom or Ghost Buster 2016 to the point of Stockholm Syndrome. I'd watch Fallen kingdom, it is still watchable for the dinosaurs at least. Even with how stupid that movie was.

Can’t help to see that the failure of Ghostbusters 2016 was Sony pictures split from wokeness, they we’re fumbling with films woke or not, and now they make pretty much the same quality films, without the woke nonsense and they’re the only studio in the top ten alone sided WB and Disney. Will not surprise me if they dominate this year and for the foreseeable future.
