Firefighters axed over vaccine mandates as wildfire season begins

Washington state’s Public Lands Commissioner, Hilary Franz, continues to uphold the vaccine mandate despite being vaccinated herself and recently testing positive for Covid. She heads the state’s wildland firefighting force for the Department of Natural Resources, which has lost many of its most experienced fire experts due to her vaccine mandate.
