Brooks isn't wanted. Confirmed.(Man, wait till EC hears of a game called "ORCS MUST DIE" lol)
I think its funny that they use Elves as an example of pure races. In LotR, they cause half the settings problems. Although people thinking that orcs are analogous to real world minorities are still the funniest to me.
Yeah they did a movie of world were orcs are "misunderstood"It's called bright and its awful
Elderscrolls has both redguards and orcs.Twitter Twat: "Orcs are clearly black people."
We have a population of humans that just straight up murder if you go on their island…. They killed a preacher though he was warned and many boats told him no.
I hate when people get offended over evil races, not only are these races fictional, but you also need something to fight in these games. Just enjoy the games and stop being offended for the smallest things!
TBH: It is much fun to subvert the player's expectations making a member of an evil race not evil to cause confusion on my players 😉(but it is still fun to slaughter dozens of orcs, goblins and gnolls XD)
Don't tell me a little genocide of orcs didn't save anyone.
Every species has a different approach to morals. When lions take over a new pride they kill the cubs that belonged to a previous lion and Otters will literally rape baby seals to deathWhy is it so strange to think a different species to humans might have values that seem evil to us?
i couldn't play DND with someone playing a pacifist, my characters would want to turn their insides their outsides and they would feel pain, Lots and lots of pain.
Funny… maybe there's an evil race in real life… and they control all the media… and they're paranoid.
People want to complain about something when they arent happy in their lives
4:45 to 4:56. I'm glad it's not just me thinking this!
I forgot this trend was a thing. Yeah Twitter do suck a lot of time. It pretty much control America.
This ground was already covered in the documentary Madagascar.
Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it…
What of those who seek to erase the past; what are they trying vs are actually doing, exactly?
People wanted realism on fictional things? lmao
Been waiting for an upload. 🙏
I'm a DM and it happens quite often.
We didn't really want to go to war with Germany in WW2. It took quite a bit of convincing, and even then it wasn't until Pearl Harbor that we got fully committed. Pearl Harbor didn't happen until decently far into the war. Fun fact, Walt Disney was part of the America First Party, which strongly did not want to go to war, instead hoping to keep America out of the war and focus on domestic development. The political parties at the time that supported the idea of war with Germany helped push the image of the camps and what Germany was doing at the time into the public consciousness. Even though they were right to do so however, they still had to content with the America First party and it's popular influence. So they began a smear campaign against them (and by extension, Walt) in which they accused them of being Anti-semitic, and pro Germany. Which is largely the origin, not entirely mind you, of the belief that Walt was an anti-semite.
I think someone needs to make a guide to how to things actually work in the real world because these ppl just don't get it.
I never noticed that badass guitar in the background before.
Fantasy games are about humanoids fighting monsters. There need to be monsters to fight.
Look, you can have evil races, but they all have to be white and human (and heterosexual and mostly male.) You can have evil cultures, but they have to be Christianity or your local equivalent. The idea of an individual from any other demographic ever being to blame for anything makes them super uncomfortable.
Okay, I understand the appeal of having characters belonging to naturally evil races wanting to overcome their evil nature, but the appeal of this type of overcoming only exists precisely because we have this assumption that such races are evil, to begin with! The honorable orc who wants to be more than a troglodyte, or the noble demon who wants to overcome the sins of its blood are only interesting because we have a starting point, which is precisely the natural evil of their races!
Wanting to antomorphize this characteristic is a lazy and self-centered attitude, and whoever defends this type of thing, not only doesn't understand how fiction works and its role in society, but it is also an extremely petty attitude, wanting to dictate how fiction should be only to brag about how "superior" their morality is.
And with that, I feel compelled to recall a phrase from Paarthurnax, by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: "What is better? To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?"
You can stab a sharknado…
As a GM I sort of appreciated pacifist players. I think it added some nice depth to have people at least try to talk, but then again the enemies in my games were usually human so it was a little different
The pain in her voice is hilarious.
You can't reason with a Xenomorph.
''Just play dress up with your niece. We don't need this shit.'' Lol, that made me laugh a little…but yeah.
Why aren't there Cheeseburger Burritos? I mean it's combining two forms of fast food into one thing, you've already seen chip butties (British,… I know) and spaghetti pizza. Why not cheeseburger burritos?
It's still a pretty lazy thing to do just make them evil
