Worried NYC subway riders react to Brooklyn subway shooting: Many New York subway riders have said they feel endangered and more alerted while riding public transport, just hours after Tuesday shooting at a Brooklyn station that left at least ten people wounded. There have been nearly 500 major crimes reported in the subway so far in 2020, 224 more than the previous year. Newly-elected New York Mayor Eric Adams unveiled a plan in February to tackle homelessness, who he pointed the finger for underground crime. However, his initiative hasn’t stopped a crime from surging in the city and in subway stations.
