If you have a well, when the power turns off you’d have to prime the pump after running water/flushing while the power is off because the well runs on electricity rather than natural water pressure

Regarding the superchat about using Geo-Thermal in Texas. That is not a possibility in a lot of the areas which are currently affected as it is literally solid rock several feet below the top soil. The cost of drilling through that rock would be astronomical. Certain areas it is possible, but large swaths of Texas are sitting on solid rock.

The 2018 National Infrastructure Advisory Council report to the President from 2018 warned ALL AMERICANS to have 6 months of food and water stored at all times because of a grid shutdown! An EMP is a giant threat to the power grid? This wasn't an EMP but it is exactly the same effect with the power grid failing!

as far as windmill they have them in northern new york state. .. i guess they are out of power simce fucking december … all infrastructure needprepping for winter. doubt that the 10% windmill production is the cause of the power failure in Texas.

Battery technology is only improving by about 1% a year. It CANT match the energy density of oil because you will always need additional components compared to oil.

I’m poor as fuck. I have an iPhone paid for by me. I drink beer everyday paid for by me. I own more things than I can remember paid for by me. I’m wealthier and live better than most people in human history. May our God bless America. If He doesn’t, then watch the fuck out.

They're gearing up for a new "epidemic". They will claim scurvy deaths are c0v 9teen. Expect larger power grabs. Learn how to make sauerkraut, it prevents scurvy. Shred cabbage, sprinkle kosher salt over it, put it in a jar and wait 2 weeks.

You can charge your phone in 10-15 minutes too. If you only want like 50-100 recharges. Phones intentionally charge slower than physically possible to preserve lifespan.

Why don't you talk about gio engineering, they can literally create weather patterns etc etc. Please look into it. You'll then realise it has been done over Texas.

Texas is ran by Republicans. However, Republicans are judged by results not intentions. In the liberal world everyone involved would get a raise & incompetence breeds until you have a failed state/city. In the real world heads need to roll. The state capitol lives in the alternative world, but the state claims to live in reality. We're about to see.

My understanding of molten salt reactors is that they can't melt down. The physics of it doesn't reach a high enough temperature. Plus the safety system is not human based. It doesn't rely on water pumps pumping. It takes the human error out of it.

Tim, dude. Come to northwestern Montana or north Idaho. We don’t worry about coyotes. We worry about wolves, grizzlies, and mountain lions.
Feral hogs are one of the most versatile creatures on the planet. They can survive in Siberia and Florida at the same time. They destroy crops, and livestock around the globe.

I live in MN and it's pretty common to see roads plowed/unplowed at the county line due to difference in snowplow schedules and availability. So seeing the Arkansas and Texas border and the differences is something that could change shortly after that photo was taken.

We need to take personal responsibility. There have been enough horrible situations around the world to see that we need to have emergency water, food, blankets, wood, etc. We cannot fix or prepare for everything but certainly this type of situation can be survived by most with some prep. I hope we realize as a society that the government will not help and we need to try to be self sufficient AND to have extra to help our elderly or sick neighbors as needed
