I can only wallow in decadence in the freedom and abundance of a Christian nation. I’m not a Christian, but they are why I can have the life I have. I love Christianity, I wish I was one.

If someone needs religion to be a good person, they are most definitely not a good person.

Spot on… Except: Judaism and Christianity share similarities but "Judeo-Christian" is not really rooted in reality unless you want to establish a continuity with the two as a rhetorical device. I'm a Jew and there are major differences and major similarities. In general, all traditional religions share values of family, a community, purpose etc. From the outside, you'll find few differences between the Amish or traditionally religious Jewish sects, for example. You'll have good arguments for and against the term "Judeo-Christian" but ultimately it's kind of a weird term.

The second society propped up an ex stripper that literally admitted to drugging and robbing men is the second it became irrefutable that society is basically going down the drain. I mean people, including mainstream media pundits actually celebrated her.

Them straight up supporting a domestic T group was icing on the cake and the cherry on top.

Some truths are hard to hear. There is a god that you can’t create and he will have rules you won’t understand, therefore your not going to like them. Weird horrible rules come from listening to some guy who tells you who god is. God is good , god is love ,his laws are out of love for you.

I think one thing Jack Murphy doesn't understand is that if this country had actually been founded upon Christianity there wouldn't be any freedom to practice other religions…. One of the ten commandments is "one shall not praise false idols"

This is why we have the separation of Christian estate

Even if you don't believe in Western Christian beliefs, it's still a good framework for a decent morality system. Yes, everything can be taken too far. But finding that moderation is what I think a lot of folks are working on. But I will tell you, I'd rather take a crazy church lady over a crazy Marxist any day.

Religion is absolutely necessary. People will fill that spot in their brain with something, be it theistic or secular religion. I used to believe that Science gave people a reason to live, as if that was good thing. I now know, religion gives people a reason to die, giving them more potential.

I'm more worried with what we would replace religion with if we did away with it. Like now, it's the "woke" religion taking over, and I'd take Christian religion and values over "wokeness" any day.

This is so TRUE. However, what happens over generations is that the Christian values go because there are no Christians. They rapidly dilute as each generation becomes less religious. The foundation for the laws are not the bits of paper; they are the respect for a higher authority than man.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but by me.” His words, not mine, not Muhammad’s, not Buddha’s, not Ghandi, not Moses, nor Abraham.
Every man/woman must answer this question: was Jesus a liar, a lunatic or Lord? Your decision.

Don’t call it Judeo Christian. Modern Judaism is antithetical to Christianity and an abhorrent religion. Don’t slander Christ’s good name and creed by lumping in the Jews

religion gives purpose, what people are craving for is purpose. That's why the left feel good doing what they do, they feel they are living a purpose, this is true, they are being used and they feel purposeful doing so. Perhaps we need a strong collective purpose that we are all willing to work towards to unify everyone

Just because your values align with those in the bible does not mean they came from the bible. Naturally people will reach the same conclusions if said conclusions are correct.

There are also some very deep, fundamental contradictions between Christianity and the Bible, so talking about Judeo-Christian values is a bit strange.

America was founded on Christian values even our founding fathers recognized this when drawing up our constitution and bill of rights. People do pick and choose verses out of the Bible to misrepresent God's Holy words.

Morality is better explained by biological evolution rather than religion. Being bro's with people increases the chances of you yourself passing on your genes. It's the reason why we decided to stop being nomads and establish cities. Behavior that detracts from others being able to pass on their genes is then considered immoral. Religion is not only unnecessary, but also dangerous when it is allowed to become the sole law of the land. It is also problematic as most Abrahamic religions are not clear on what is and isn't moral or lawful. Who is to decide that we should use old testament laws instead of the new ones. Or which laws from the new testament to choose. Who has the authority to cherry pick what verses are to be taken literally and which verses are metaphors? Disagreements on biblical interpretation were the sole reason of numerous conflicts in history. Countries with a high atheist population do perfectly fine as long as they don't fall into authoritarianism.

"Keeping the good stuff and getting rid of the bad stuff" assumes an objective moral code. You can't even talk about religion without assuming religious principles.

you don't have to be a jew or a christian to appreciate western culture. at its pillars, it builds strong focused people. cancel culture wants us to feel bad for being on time, or confident, or proud, hardworking. all those traits equal a great and successful person. it also sounds like they are implying everyone else is irresponsible, easily humiliated, and weak. those traits both positive and negative transcend race, gender, political affiliation, or sexual orientation.
