It was normalized. Then the armed society became the safe society. Now a society that's known nothing but safety is unable to conceptualize how that safety came to be. We're all safe all the time. So you don't need a weapon.

And surely someone will say, “well yeah cars are just as or more dangerous than guns, but we require licensing and registration for cars.” Here’s the reply to that: “yeah but the law does not require licensing/registration for use of atv’s, four wheelers dirt bikes, motor boats, etc. In the car/gun comparison large cars, trucks and heavy machines like bulldozers could be analogous to light machine guns, rocket propelled grenades and nukes, respectively.

The reason we have cars, is because they can chase/track us easily. It’s easy to control.

When you have a gun, you have the option to not comply if you don’t want to. You can shoot cops which are the Hall Monitors of the US.

It’s all about control

Car ownership and use is REGULATED

Firearm ownership and use is PROTECTED (well, it should be by law)

Going off title here before watching. Cars are more deadly and more easily accessible than guns.

As a security supervisor at Ruger Newport NH one of my tasks was to familiarize new hires on how to clear various weapons…. I can not tell you the number of people are ok with the 'wooden' guns….but anything looking like a 'scary black rifle'!! They physically shake when they are about hold one…… after a few weeks processing firearms they are fully accepting of them…they usually purchase one within 3mos!

Self-defense and self- preservation are two of the MOST BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS. Ancient man used sticks and rocks to protect themselves against larger and stronger attackers. Today we use guns. Let's start with outlawing sticks and rocks and other blunt objects, because they still kill many times more people than guns EVER will. And many of those gun deaths are JUSTIFIED AND MORALLY AND LEGALLY RIGHT.

I'm sure vehicles kill more people than any weapon.

In 1990, I visited The Graveyard of Towns in USSR. It was 20 acres of large tombstones with a jar of soil from where a town used to be. Stalin looked at the election results and eliminated the entire town and its inhabitants. They literally bulldozed the buildings into the rivers and moved on to the next town that voted incorrectly. Millions were killed. Just a statistic.

Just look up gun related deaths and compare it to prescription medicine or even over the counter pain killers. Just as many people die from gun violence in a year. Approx. 15,000 after you remove suicide, as over the counter pain medicine. If you count prescription meds there is no comparison. It is over 700,000 deaths a year to drugs prescribed by doctors.

It’s makes me laugh to listen to this because even though it’s a positive conversation about guns they talk about guns like a gun is an alien from another planet. Here in Colorado (not Denver or New California as we like to call it), New Mexico, and Wyoming there just Gun’s that’s all.

Tim, read Alinsky. The point is to destroy the system, just to see what will happen. Not to replace it, but to breed chaos.

Another reason for separation. Whole swathes of the US it is totally normalized. Different people, different cultures.

To the left they believe it’ll be like the old west that is portrayed in movies. Even though most people didn’t go around looking to shoot somebody.

There is an anime where murder is legal.
Somebody bad shows up in town and everybody surrounds that person. Says "your not welcome"
The bad person decides to fight and looses.
Everybody carries a gun in that town. And they protect the weaker people in the town.

I'm 60, I grew up with guns everywhere. We played with plastic replicas. We played army. We wore six guns on our hips. Everyone had guns in there home. My dad gave me my first real gun, a single shot shotgun 20ga. We shot in the woods. We had shotgun in our trucks at school.
Gun are normal for me.
