Do yall think this email is sexist or was the landscaping company just joking?!

That would be because the younger generation truly believes they're on the same level as the CEO. They have no idea You are just a peon. And you'll be a peon for a long time before you work your way up. And if you come at people with an attitude like that you'll be a peon forever

I’ve done landscaping all my life. Women are good at weeding, watering, and planting flowers. They never were able to do hardscaping.

Woman has serious chip on her shoulder. It is correct that landscaping would need you to be physically fit and also strong. She may well have done dry stone walling, but at what pace ? He said its a fast pace company. He said if thought she was up for it to call, why didn't she just call?

I knew a woman who started at our welding company and before she started she was all like "I can weld better than any man", she started and she was ok, nothing more than low average and slower than the men. I would suspect this dry waller might be ok, but could well be alot slower.

She is right, he was wrong. I have worked in landscaping. There are good workers and bad workers, male and female. If you can do the job fine if not they will not last.

So instead of putting up with some mild warnings, then showing up and proving she can do the job, she gets offended and blows off the job with a snarky reply. She must not need a job very bad. Or, she can’t actually handle it.

The landscaping company needs some guidance from an HR consultant. The company may be right, but the response was all wrong. They should have never responded in the first place. Also, if they're going to decide whether to hire someone or not based on physicality, they need to have the person take a PT test before he or SHE is hired. A PT test will weed out people regardless of gender.

Any woman who thinks they can landscape 1 acre here in silverlake oregon. I'd like to SEE them try. I've been working at it for 2 summers and still havnt finished. Hundred degree weather hard packed sand, sage brush, mosquitos, no breeze, stickers, it SUCKS. I can NOT do it alone. NEITHER can they

I'm not so sure it was a joke. Having said that, nobody ever seems to gives the other person a charitable interpretation of what someone is saying. Maybe this guy has hired lots of women in the past any they just never were able to keep up. Who knows. His email was crass to say the least, but at least he gave her to option to get a shot at it. People need to assume the best in other a bit more often is all I'm saying.

Women (most): we can do anything men can do!
Men( except for betas): sign up for the draft then
Women(most): draft? Oh no,anything BUT that

Even if she does have the physical capability to work in landscaping, her response e-mail only proves to me that the company dodged a bullet. Throwing a tantrum after a rejection is not a great sign, if you ask me.

Some jobs are too difficult for most women. We have the saying "That's a man's job" for a reason.

I have worked in several machine shops. They told me there was going be heavy lifting of steel and aluminum. I was operating mills, lathes and grinders. They never tried to discouraged me from applying. The last machine shop job I had was when I was in my forties and worked there until I was fifty seven. I’m sorry but because the world is so freakin PC he shouldn’t have said that to her.

Sure, women can do construction. If everybody wants to have it done in triple the time itd take if men did it.

As long as she can do everything the guys do and keep up, give her a chance. And as long as she doesnt use her femininity after being hired to slack. AND as long as she can handle what guys talk about at work too. If she cant keep up and get along, fire her.
Btw, does she have experience???

For those unaware hard landscaping or hardscaping is rocks and stone and gravel it is back braking work and yes you do have to be reasonably fit and muscular to do the job.

I hope she's able to pay her bills those clicks and likes.

If she would have gotten the job she would have quit within the first 48 hours, I've seen it happen a few times.
Also you wouldn't want a bodybuilding physique as a landscaper either. Maybe it sounds bad but there actually is a certain group of people that are very well built to do landscaping.

Landscaping is back breaking work. They weren't at all being sexist, they just didn't want to hire someone who would become a liability. Ladies, if you want to work with the boys you can't be made of sugar and spice and everything nice. You have to grow a pair and suck it up.

I'm old school – most women do not have the strength or mindset for jobs like police officer, fireman and even the infantry. Not only are most not as strong as men – our hormones are all over the place at a certain time of the month. If I'm on the 5th floor of a burning building I'd rather have a 145 lb man try and carry me down the ladder than a 145 lb woman.

Wow she is so butthurt and small minded. Immediately goes for the petty insults, for him stating probably reality, I think she is too weak to do the work based on her response.

He was advising her and also testing her mettle. All she had to do is call him and say ‘Actually I AM a bodybuilder so I’m up for it. Give me a try?’ Probably wld have gotten the job. But no.. she decided to have a tantrum on Twitter.

I laugh most cause she has "years of experience" yet didn't look into the company before she applied. I know she didn't cause she applied and after being kicked in the face with a realistic response THEEEEEN all the sudden the company was a "shit company". Anybody with a career skillset such as landscaping aren't just randomly applying on indeed like most employees do. So either she has the skills and didn't research that company OR she don't have skills and blindly applied to a job. I'll bet though (cause I'm a logical cognitive person) this entire thing was manufactured to get likes and go viral.

I don't think it is sexist at all, he is simply telling her that it is a hard job that requires the person to be physically fit to handle the position.
We all know that men and women are built differently and the majority of women can't do the hard physical work that certain jobs require. If she is one of the few who can keep up and do the job without expecting a man to come in and help her do her job then good for her, but most women can't do it.
We would be a much better country if some people would stop crying about everything and they stop trying to turn our men into whiny little punks who hide behind their mama's skirt when someone says something that hurts their feelings.

Then she should have taken the job and proved him wrong if she took offense. Instead she blasted him on social media. Prime example of 1 of many thing's wrong with our society.

Worked for Fed Ex in the early 2000s. Dont know if they went woke, but back then they required anyone applying tobe able to lift 70lbs. They tested this. Those who failed were shown tne door. Those that passed moved onto the next stage.
