Shelling in a Kyiv neighbourhood has devastated a shopping centre, leaving a flattened ruin still smoldering in the midst of high-rise towers on Monday morning.
The shelling near the city centre late on Sunday left at least six dead, according to Associated Press journalists at the scene.
The force of the explosion shattered every window in the high-rise next door and twisted their metal frames.
In the distance, the sound of artillery rang out as firefighters picked their way through the destruction in the densely populated Podil district.
Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko said several homes were also damaged.
Russian troops have been shelling Kyiv for a fourth week now and are trying to surround the capital, which had nearly three million people before the war.
