two episodes ago they indirectly recanonized jango fett: open seasons and to me that's why bo katan and boba fett were so harsh to each other, since bo had been part of death watch while boba fett is the legacy of jaster marreel and the true mandalorians, and those factions were the main fighting forces during the mandalorian civil wars

There is an argument to me for both about Boba Fett's ending scene…. it could be a whole other series… or it's actually the name of the third season of The Mandalorian. I feel they have been purposefully evasive to not call Boba Fett a true Mandalorian, he himself does not consider himself one… therefore you could call it a whole other series.

I wept like a baby in the last 15 minutes of this episode. My favorite line from Carra Dune: "One X-wing….great."

That was a beautiful ending.

The moment when Din took the helmet off really got me. Very symbolic.

They did more for Star Wars in this one episode than anything Disney tried in the sequels.

It's very significant that Ahsoka called Din and Grogu's relationship "attachment", but Luke called it a "bond".

That dark saber is just as big a target as the child but from a different threat.. can't wait for the future..

I completely agree. This is the luke true fans have been waiting for. Literally for 3 decades. I saw return in the theaters. And have been waiting for this for so long.

A great way to finish Mando S2. Luke was as he should’ve been in the Force Awakens.

I believe Mando S3 and Book of Boba will be separate shows, they just used Mando as a launch platform to announce the spin off over and above Investors Day where Mando’s show was already listed.

I love when mando takes off his helmet so his son can see his face, it's on point with luke and his father at the end of Return of The Jedi.

Dark Troopers initially are as scary as Darth Vader himself

But when confronting Luke, they suddenly became like painted black C-3PO

What I also got from this episode & how it ties into Din's arc since the first episode is that Din sees himself in Grogu…..He sees a defenseless child who was saved from death & given not only a second chance at life, but a sense of purpose, belonging & a new family by joining the mandalorians….His mission was always to give Grogu that same chance at life he was given all those years ago….Grogu is with his kind(in a sense) & he knows it's not the end, but the right thing to do!!! THIS IS THE WAY!!!

I love you dude but you and everyone else is overthinking the post credit scene. Din is going to help Bo Katan retake Mandalore. That’s what the show has always been about

I loved it. I loved it so damn much. When I realized who the lone xwing was hinting at, I said, "nah no way, Hamill is too old for the part". When I saw the glove, I was like, ok obvious fakeout. But. But then. The lightsaber hilt. As soon as I saw that I began to believe. Could it be?? And yes, it was. I had chills the entire time.
The only thing standing in the way of all of this greatness is that the Disney Trilogy still exists to destroy our heroes in senseless and careless ways, with no respect for them. This extraordinary season ending still can't stop that. The only solution is to somehow entirely retcon the DT. Since the beginning it has looked extremely unlikely, but the Mandalorian has been pushing the envelope closer and closer to doing so since it started. Only time will tell.

Maybe, just maybe, they can retcon Luke's death in 8 to be him fading into the Veil of The Force to prevent the return of Palpatine/Snoke, a la the ending of Xmen DFP2. He walks into his academy, and all is well again. Ben Solo is happily training to be a Jedi with no dark shadow over him.

I took the post credit scene the same way. Boba’s book will be the new focus, for a time, for the Mandalorian. New character, new focus, new “book”. Similar to Avatar the Last Airbender.

Kathleen Kennedy style Luke would have been like "Nah Grogu, follow your heart. You don't have to come with me, I'm not special."

The shift in tone when the music changed and everyone was just watching on the security feed was really feeding into this scene. They were in just as much awe as we, the audience, and it really made it land.

I think they are two different episodes because the fact that din now has the dark saber is somewhat of a cliffhanger. I would like to see what happens with that and I don't really know how that could be resolved in a different series taking place in that time period.

Now we just have to hope they do make the the sequels uncannon or else Baby Yoda / Grogu / The child will die a fiery and gruesome death to the hands of a bratty Ben Solo

The thrill and excitement I got when Darth Vader lit his saber on the rebel ship in Rouge One is the same feeling I felt seeing Luke take out all the dark trooper droids. LOVED IT!!!

Everything is a Point of View… the citizens who are happy with the Order brought about by the Empire… anyone disturbing that peace… would be considered "Terrorists"… and this mirrors real life if you want to compare how the riots were interpreted this past summer.

Missed Easter egg: When Mando tells Grogu not to be afraid, that’s a subtle callback to Yoda’s evaluation of Anakin from Phantom Menace when Yoda explains the path to the dark side.
(“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”)

Amazing moment when Luke arrived. The CGI was, well….ok. Quality was on the same level as Tarkin in Rogue One, I guess. I'm a bit disappointed that it wasn't Sebastian Stan with a beard recasted as Luke. With a digital tweak or two, having him would have given the scene a lot more life and energy. Perhaps somewhere down the line as we're sure to pop in and check on Grogu in the future. I'm still overall happy though!

I'm all for a Boba Fett show, but not at the expense of the Mandalorian. I'm not ready to see Djin gone just yet. Season three should definitely be about Djin joining Bo Katan and trying to retake Mandalore.
