I would still like to see Rogue Squadron.

I've actually never seen Wonder Woman 1984.

Why would I trust anyone who didn't even realize that their protagonist Super Heroine was made into a rapist with a Star Wars film, or with ANY film in a franchise I love?

I don't like defending WW84 because it is a pretty crap sequel movie… but to answer some of your issues
1) Wishing for power DID take power from someone else… Barbara wished to be more like DIana… and thus it took some of her strength to make her stronger, and why Diana was beginning to get hurt and lose some strength at random times
2) The Wishing Stone was created by the God of Lies… and each God has control over their own domain… the God of Death (aka Hades) controls life and death… and since he had no involvement in that artifact… the stone cannot truly give life back completely, so it had to do something weird like put it into another host's body… it's imperfect
3) Before this movie was finished, it was said that the Wonder Woman sequel was to be a standalone movie and not connect to the greater DCEU

I've been concerned about it as soon as they mentioned it.

I loved Wonder Woman, haven’t seen 84 yet. Even if I see 84 and aren’t a big fan, that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna be excited for Rogue Sqaudron.

This will be my first actual time seeing that squadron beyond references in movies and books (Yes I haven’t read the legends novel, but I’m crammed with books as it is so) so that alone I’m interested.

Plus, ever since reading Alphabet Sqaudron I’ve wanted to see an X wing movie… and now we’re freaking getting one. I’m sorry, but I’ve gotta do this.

“Highway to the Hyperspace.” Sorry I just really love Top Gun. 😉

Wonder Woman 1984 was hot garbage!

When I first saw the poster, I thought there were some red x lines that scratched the word "squadron"

If she’s writing the movie, I’m skeptical. She’s a good director, but WW84 was very poorly written.

I like the idea of a Rogue Squadron movie. I'm also an Air Force brat like Jenkins, so that may be part of it. I'm also a big fan of the EU X-Wing book series, both Rogue and Wraith squadrons. (Yub yub, Commander!)

That said, there are two key points that will truly make or break this movie:
1. Which part of the timeline it will be set in. Having a Rogue Squadron without Wedge Antilles would be a huge risk, but Dennis Lawson couldn't come back to play a younger Wedge and recasting is a risk in itself. A recast is probably not as big a deal to a lot of people, as Wedge isn't that well known or popular of a character, but those who know the character are going to be paying very close attention.

2. Who gets involved in the story and scripting process with Jenkins. If they go with Hidalgo and the Story Group, that's a red flag. If they get even just some consult or insight from Favreau and Filoni, I'll have much higher trust in the process.

I won't go into WW84 much here, other than to say that I was sufficiently entertained by the movie despite its flaws. It wasn't the agenda-fest it threatened to be (like Captain Marvel), and showed a desire (if poorly executed) to have character development.

So for now I'm in wait-and-see mode.

I was skeptical about Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron, but after finding out she had Wonder Woman hook up with Steve, knowing they were using another man's body for Steve to hook up with her, I'm just too creeped out by her Wonder Woman movie and feel grossed out by the prospect of what she might do with Star Wars.

There's also the fact that Wonder Woman took advantage of someone without their consent. She had physical relations with someone in another person's body. And to make matters worse, at the end of the film, you see him alive. She didn't even consider what she was doing, at all. I think were the roles reversed, and a male was doing that with another woman who happened to be in a different woman's body….critic reaction would be a lot different.

My disagreement is wonder woman 1984 wasn’t a good movie. RedLetterMedia. They point out everything wrong with that fucking piece of shit. A pretty face doesn’t save a movie. Gal Gadot might have the prettiest face but it’s not gonna save the shittiest movies. Just like Daisy Ridley she was the best part of Disney Star Wars because of her pretty face and how well she played the badly written character of Rey.

I don't know about Rogue Squadron, but I just finished reading a kindle free sample of Light of the Jedi and I'm not bothering with The High Republic after that. The language used regarding the Republic and Jedi reminds me of propaganda.

Jenkins apparently did not write Wonder Woman but she did write and direct Wonder Woman 1984 so I guess you could say that as long as she doesn't write Rogue Squadron the movie could turn out well. Or she could just co-write the movie with someone who has more experience with sci-fi movies like Star Wars and don't do what J.J Abrams and Ryan Johnson did, surround herself with yes-people.

The problem with all these starwars movies, TV shows and lore building is that the truth is starwars is about Luke, Darth Vader and their story. Everything else is just extra and now there's a strong focus on the extra stuff and on top of that its being done poorly.

If WW84 is anything to go by, then I don't think her original ending for Wonder Woman was going to be good either.

Y'all are forgetting that she also made the original Wonder Woman. It'll be fine. Every director has at least one bad movie.

WW84 proves that Patty Jenkins is not a good director. The last act of the original WW gave us a clue.

We should all be very concerned about Rogue Squadron. There is almost zero chance that it will be good. And a high degree of likelihood that it will be extremely offensive.

Solo not selling well had nothing to do with "not having jedi". Its because after TLJ the majority of people simply said "Fuck those Disney SW movies"
