Honestly..? Despite the heavy indications of SJWisms.. This just sounds really boring.

Remember, Kathleen Kennedy purposely hired SJW writers. There's nothing good to be found here, just SJW propaganda. That's why you have things like that black girl with half her head shaved (typical sjw haircut). I guarantee that something pretty predictable is gonna come in the future. Also don't forget about that white board in that teaser thing last year with things written such as "inclusive" & "representation" & "diversity" (written twice)

We normally don’t agree on a lot, but I really appreciate your level headedness on topics, always have. You’re giving it a fair shot unlike others. I’m picking up LOTJ tomorrow and can’t wait to read it, but I’m holding off on the comic until its collected into a trade because reading issue by issue has always been too little for me. It’s like buying a chapter of a book to me, I’d rather wait til the chapters are collected and I can see the whole picture. I think first issues always suffer from pacing things out, but I’m already intrigued that it’s moving fast. It feels like the first trades arc could have been just the trials and expanding upon that, so I’m surprised to see us already moving! The new canon comics have been the strongest point in SW for me next to The Mandalorian so I’m really hoping this becomes a new ongoing series that fleshes out the era! (I’m not aware of it being an ongoing series or not, really hope it is, just like Rise of Kylo Ren should have been) Great video man!

From what I’ve heard and read about this era, I think the book, Light of the Jedi, gives a better setup for the era. I don’t know if I’d like this era, but I give Lucasfilm credit for at least attempting to do something new and interesting. I do hope it is good.

I read the comic. I didn't mind it. I am a sucker for action sequences in comics so I liked when the images of her master and her fighting. I also like her Lightsaber is similar to Cal Kestis. Its interesting enough for me to go onto the next comic

This feels more like an issue 0, much like how the Kotor comics didn't really do much in it's prologue and first issue aside from the ending of the first issue that immediately grabs the readers attention on what could happen next.

would the first issue be worth something in 40 years?

I feel like with how well loved KOTOR is, any time period before the prequels is a huge pair of shoes to fill. This first issue just feels like fan fiction.

I think I agree with most of what you see here. I thought it was a fairly average issue but I'll probably give the first arc a read and then go from there. Although, I do really like some concepts, I really like the Starlight Beacon, it kind of reminds me of the Watchtower from The Justice League and I kind of like how The Marshall interprets the force as a song. Jedi in star was have only ever explained what the force is but never give us their own individual interpretation of it which I think is pretty cool. But yeah, overall it was really just an average issue, I hope they come up with something that is really cool and isn't just some SJW garbage.

I watch most of your videos and trust your judgement on these. Thank you for a well worded video. Looking at the art for the high republic, you could swap out the lightsabers for broadswords and remove the words Star Wars and Jedi and immediately find yourself in a different universe.

With me personally I'm gonna wait until everything about the high republic era is out then I'll decide if i like it or not

I am extremely scared, because with this they are going to retcon a lot of stuff, and we know that this folk do not respect Star Wars lore.

Very off topic, but do you think that there will ever be a "What if…" show that goes into what the galaxy would have been like if Anakin had not turned to the dark side and had been able to be a father and a husband?

Big optimism here from you. Except that this is already shaping up to exactly the exact kind of book I want miles away from me.

Pure modern Disney/Marvel as I expected.

Unfortunately for me, when Disney announced the old eu (which I hadn't touched because it seemed intimidating to catch up on decades of stories) was to be removed from canon and a new eu would be brought in, I thought great, I can actually start this and keep on top of it. And I gave it a shot but Last Jedi left me fed up with Disney Star Wars and i stopped. Now, I have so much to catch up on, I've given up on staying on top of everything and i'm just going to buy what appeals to me. This does not appeal to me. Maybe i'll give it a shot when I see it in a bargain bin, but for now, I'd rather focus on comics about the likes of Maul, Vader and Thrawn.

This comment isn’t directed at Thor but welcomed to everyone:

At what point can we have new (non-white male) characters introduced without it automatically starting a SJW debate? Thor continuously has to clarify “it’s not because of their gender or the way he/she looks”.
I rarely see this energy directed towards any (what some may consider “default”) white male characters. Example: I don’t recall any major debate over Cal Kestis in Jedi: Fallen Order for example.

In ANH: Anakin is described by Obi-Wan as “the best star pilot in the GALAXY”, as well as a cunning warrior.

Now, Avar Kriss is described to be as one of the most brightest and noble Jedi of her time.

Personally, I view both of these in the same fashion both I know many don’t. My question is, at what point can we just like/dislike characters based on how they’re actually written and not how they’re perceived to be based on their looks?

Question for the fans: So are we going to have a debate every time a non-white male main character is introduced in Star Wars?
