technically the villain cannot be mephisto since disney is trying to get disney+ into china which does not allow religious depictions like who mephisto is based on… the devil

At this point and despite being told otherwise by the show itself, i do belive that Pietro is not the original MCU one but X-verse one and is just working on the inside for SWORD as that would explain how he knows about "real MCU world" things but doesn't remember them as Wanda does. Whoever had the power to bring X men Pietro to this universe, has a secret plan and is the true villain.

Wish I could have watched this this morning before work but couldn’t due to canceling my member ship (cause fuck Disney+) anyone got a good streaming site to stream this off of?

Tbh this is starting to get me into the idea of Marvel fitting better as TV shows rather than movies. I really dont think a plot like this could EVER fit the big screen so perfectly. It actually gives me hope that the other TV marvel shows will be just as good, but im still skeptical.

Personal theory regarding the X-Men:
Either due to not being an infinity stone herself (just empowered by one) or due to the destruction of the stones removing a layer of protection, Wanda's manipulation of reality is creating tears in the veil that keeps the multiverse separate. That is why the X-Men Pietro appeared instead of resurrecting the Avengers Pietro.

Wanda seems to be especially confused that Pietro does not have the appearance she expected, which is why she kept testing him with questions about their past. They seemed to hint that he had a blend of memories from the two universes, though that may be overthinking things. But it is clear that something about Pietro is not under Wanda's control.

I also agree with the split psyche theory for Wanda. And it seems that the closer the decades jump to the current time, the less control she seems to have over the town, as if the pressure of suppressing memories is too much to sustain.

Agnes definitely planned that meeting with Vision…

Had she not been there to tell him that stuff, Vision wouldn’t have attempted to leave.
Had Vision not attempted to leave, Wanda wouldn’t have expanded the Hex…

I still think there's something up with Agnes. Did anyone else notice how she was included in the opening credits this episode? That's the first time that's ever happened and I know it has to be intentional for a reason. That whole interaction with Vision felt very off to me – I almost bought it until she started yelling "DEAD!" in his face and laughing maniacally, not to mention the look she gave him before driving off was very creepy, to say the least. Also, she was dressed up as a witch, which is either the showrunners continuing to troll us with a red herring about her being Agatha Harkness or another clue that she is actually Agatha Harkness. Even if she's a victim, I still believe she knows more about what's happening than she's letting on.

Also I'll probably be wrong but until the show proves me wrong I'm still hoping for Monica's contact to be Reed Richards even though supposedly Marvel debunked any F4 connection.

If I were, I'd best compare the theorizing of WandaVision to The Mandalorian S2, there's not much to compare with the main Star Wars films…

I love the way they have been slowly peeling away the layers of this very intricate story. I could not be happier with the results so far!

I have a minor theory that the MCU’s Wanda and Pietro (Age of Ultron) are actually mutates instead of full on mutants. Mutates are basically mutants, but the difference is that instead of their X-gene being activated during a moment of emotional stress during puberty (like Jean Grey, Colossus, or Rogue), it’s activated through stuff like experimentation and is kind of forced out of them (like Deadpool). Since Wanda and Pietro were experimented on by HYDRA, I think it kind of makes sense for them to be mutates instead. Dunno, just a theory.

Wanda said herself that she doesn't even know how it all started. So it is not too far fetched to say that she is the one who is being played by some super villain pulling the strings.

I’m absolutely loving the show so far! But I did have 1 complaint about this episode I thought quicksilver was a bit out of character. Ya I could see someone saying we didn’t see enough of him to tell or this isn’t actually him. But that’s hard to tell because they’re self aware that he looks different but he was shown dead like vision so I’m sure.

I still don't believe that Wanda is the only one behind it, but time alone will tell. She has only partial control, at least, that seems for certain — she can't control her "children", or completely control Vision, or Pietro/Peter, or even perhaps Agnes.

And I'd rail against the idea that Wanda is the first Avenger who turns villain in grief, it would feel like a regression, completely reversing her redemption arc so far. At the very least, the sense I get is that she is trying to protect the people in Westview, and she is not (or at least not completely) wrong to do so.

As Vision was approaching the barrier, I was worried that he would just revert to a corpse and fall to the ground as soon as he passed through. However, it looked more like the Hex tore him apart in an attempt to pull him back in. He wasn't reverting to his old, damaged body. He was being damaged anew by the Hex's pull.

Another interesting moment was Wanda seeing Pietro's bullet holes (and corpse-like face) for a brief moment. That obviously reminded me of the similar moment we got for Vision a while back, but while that one could be a hint that Vision's repaired body was an illusion, the same can't be true for Pietro. It's been over 5 years since Pietro died, so his body would not look like that anymore (not to mention the "recast"). Therefore, it now seems more likely that both moments (Vision's and Pietro's) were just Wanda having a momentary flash back, which her powers might have visualized for her.

In conclusion, I think Vision and Pietro are both properly alive, and can survive without the Hex.

I really wouldnt like a villian as Mephisto in the series, because it will create an easy way out not to blame Wanda's actions.

Here's my theory – Pietro is definitely suspect. I think he is – as Pop Culture Explained has theorised – "Nightphisto" – a combo of Mephisto and Nightmare, come to find out how Wanda has done the Hex. I really don't trust Pietro and between his casual scaring Wanda, making references to nightmares, his dodging saying anything solid about "his" and Wanda's shared past, and his inquiry about how Wanda has done all this, there is something really weird going on with him.

I think Agnes is Agatha, but I don't think she is in any way in control – she is definitely one of the victims of this situation. I think her fear is because underneath her assigned role as the "Quirky Friend", she is scared of how powerful Wanda is.

I believe Wanda’s brother, from the x-men movies, showing up is the first of many crossover characters we’ll get to see. The door has opened into the Multiverse of Madness!

Maybe Wanda’s searching for a universe where Vision lived and she died, then live in that one, kinda like Rick & Morty!

Just binged to the latest episode. Didn’t understand till now the show’s name is a double entendre. Yes, it stars Wanda & Vision, but since were watching a show created by Wanda it’s Wandavision like Television. Very cleaver Marvel!

Sums up my thoughts exactly. & with only 3 episodes left it feels very unlikely Marvel would introduce such a big villain this late into a show, we’ve essentially just entered the 3rd act.

Alfonso

I think that Agnes is just covering her ass. I think she is trying to remove Vision from the scene. That's why she brought Pietro, that's why she provoked Vision. She is in big way responsible for the awakening of Vision if you remember it. She got out of her role and that awakened Vision's suspicions. Now she tries to kill him by acting again.

I think that Agnes is a twisted and dangerous villain.
