That moment in the interrogation room was so great! And I hope we get to see more of this other super soldier.

The one thing that ruined it was the cop scene, it was ridiculous

From my perspective, John is getting too much heat. I feel like if you took out the Shield/Falcon context, he seems like a pretty stand up guy and a good Captain America successor.

If not as Captain America then as USAgent

I loved this episode so much more than I enjoyed the first one, Bucky and Sam’s interactions are some of my favorite things. Also, it’s going to be very interesting to learn more about the “new super soldiers” and hopefully see more of Isaiah’s character

Wandavision and The Mandalorian set a very high bar but this show could end up being the best of them.

Fantastic new show. This is the only superhero show that felt as grounded as Daredevil. I've only seen the 1st episode so I can't finish the video just yet. On with the second episode)))

I love it. And I also have my own theory. Walker already has a Rebirth Serum inside him. He took on Triple S enhanced humans. He succeeded where Bucky & Sam failed. He's definitely enhanced.

I totally think the redhead is Sin or going to hold a Sin-like role. She is strikingly similar to her appearance in the comics. The meeting with her in the modern times, in Brubaker, she was under an alternate identity and that girl's switch interacting with Bucky was absolutely crazy. It reminded me of her. The other flag breakers need the masks but she doesn't need to, like how Sin was the one who had the true power in her group but the others once the situation was reversed was powered down. It makes sense even if they have her inheriting her father's super soldier serum and then being used for something like this. And it makes sense because how Sin got her powers is a little too weird for the realistic MCU but doing it through the power brokers and crossing it with Zemo….

Also it's possible Sam's sister won't let him help so he's distracting himself with this. Both of them don't like to rely on charity. It's clear why since their family went from the bottom up and are now back to the bottom. Too stubborn to fix it. So I can see Buck pushing something once he knows like Sam's going to push something with Buck's situation. Buck understands because Steve is the exact same way.

I agree with you on John Walker. I look forward to him. I actually like him. Unlike most people it seems. I know he has impure motives but I do think he still wants to help people. So I think his pre-occupation with being a hero you noted is what is going to lead to his reckless, Punisher like behavior. Also that girlfriend of his is likely keeping the same role as his family in the comics. That's… all my current theorizing.

I’ll just say it I think this show is great. I like how it’s set up as this critique of America. Bucky being a struggling veteran, new cap being basically a propaganda tool, and a a black man I loved everything involving Isaiah and the police scene right after. The joke about almost every black superhero having the name black something was great too

It was a good Episode, but I would have liked to see more action and not as much talking. I don't like John Walker, I liked Isaiah in this episode though.

I can't say I'm personally very interested in the social commentary of American racial issues, but other than that I liked tonight's episode

My one real gripe about this episode is this: how does Bucky get access not just to a US military base, but to the hangar where an active operation is staging from, all without escort? And then he just decides to join in the operation, with zero briefing or preparation for his involvement (let alone actual command authorization)?

The first episode made it clear that even with the pardon, Bucky is strictly a civilian with no military connection or role. And since he was arrested for missing his counseling session, it is clear there was no one who authorized his absence and thus his participation in the operation.

Even a rudimentary understanding of military procedures should have raised a flag about these story points.

My favourite aspect that they're exploring in the show is the 1940s perception of heroism being challenged by the 2021 perception of heroism.

Also, Zemo's entrance was perfection 👏

I'm going to differ in a opinion here a little. I can feel myself starting to lose interest, even though I'm still interested. I agree that the episode is good, but it's not great. They are starting to lose me with the logic of Sam's backstory. Starting on episode 1, I can't buy into the idea that he's dirt poor and has no or little income. Doesn't he have a long career in the military? Then, in episode 2, after getting back to Baltimore from an oversees trip in a military aircraft, he tells John Walker that he's a freelancer, not part of the military like John is. Okay…then how is he using military equipment, including planes, jetpacks, and smart drones? Who does he work for exactly? Not himself, he's dirt poor! So bottom line, good episode, good action and banter, but the questions are starting to distract me from the story.

I think that the bank loan subplot makes sense if you think about Sam Wilson as a stand-in for a war veteran. The world loves superheroes, but they still can’t get the money they need. We say we love our veterans, and yet they struggle to receive the aid they need. When you take this in combination with the way they portray Sam’s interactions with police, it appears this show is going to offer really good commentary on the marginalization of people groups and what America should stand for.

i liked this episode but the pacing got a little weird towards the end, like it felt like it was rushing itself along so it could fit into its time constraints. other than that, good episode

This is what Steve was afraid of. This is why he didn't sign the Accords: a government-owned Captain America.

They did sell John Walker as a very good candidate for CA (his training and his record) but when he flexed his role to get Bucky out of jail and later telling them not to get in his way, that was not very Captain America. At least not to me

I do like how John isn’t being framed as a total villain. He clearly isn’t the best person possible for the role and unlike Steve, probably is far more likely to do whatever the government says; however, he’s still just a good guy trying to do his best and trying to handle all the pressure put on his shoulders. Though it’s clear that this version seems to be a lot calmer than his comic book incarnation.

I also still enjoyed all the stuff with Bucky and Sam. While I didn’t really laugh too much at their jokes and banter it was still funny. Only part of their story I didn’t like was probably the cop scene. While I know it’s realistic considering the area they’re in also seems to be the type it happens it, it does feel a little out of left field. It wasn’t terrible and was appropriate for the series, just wasn’t lead into the best in my opinion
