Neither of these two has the slightest idea of what they are talking about and no idea that they have no idea.

Uh…I hope they know that electricity is imported from France since they don't want to be bothered by generating their own.

the 21st century and we are talking about can we keep the electricity flowing, absolutely pathetic, it's a mixture of crazy green ideology and incompetent politicians.

Best to get off grid and not give any of them power companies anything, I bet that will make them knock the prices down.

These companies are energy brokers, middlemen making profit from arbitrage, to take advantage of differing prices for gas. If they get their hedging wrong, or miscalculate the market swings they are financially exposed.

They want you to use less and charge you more. That is really what's happening.

A very organized stunt between both the government AND energy companies together interesting it comes now as most the big oil companies are now rebranding and have already or in the middle of buying out renewable energy supply/tech companies and of course buying up offshore field lease patches, anyone in a position to do so buy up a decent solar system and more importantly home battery storage system….This switch to electric will be fully more expensive than energy/running a car is now by a long shot with no option to switch back to fossil at a realistic price.

I've turned my gas boiler off because I only use it for hot water and even having the pilot light on is going to be expensive. I take cold showers and then treat myself to a hot bath once a week.

The energy needs to be nationalised and made part of the crown estate so the policians that are meant to serve (but dont) cannot get their grubby hands on it.

Once in crown ownership a truly public body organises the running of the energy system.

It should be above and out of reach of grubby here today-gone-tomorrow politicians rather like the High Courts.

We put it in a form of national control that serves the national interest but highly protected against politicians and the government.
